F-finally, after the push from right and left, I remember to update this fic T.T Life's been hell and it's not helping that I'm stuck in the sequel of this series T.T
A-anyway, enjoy the story!
The Game We Play
Pairings: Aiba Masaki/Matsumoto Jun, Ninomiya Kazunari/Sakurai Sho, Ohno Satoshi/Ikuta Toma, Tegoshi Yuuya/Masuda Takahisa
Rating: PG-13
Genre: Romance, Drama, AU
Summary: Four princes of JE academy were bored with their always-the-same lives. So they decided to play a game that will change their life forever.
A/N: It's a complete AU, means all the characters have different personality from their real life version. It's my challenge to see whether I can get it to work. And because I love Aiba/Jun so much I have to write something about them. In this fic, Aiba is a real jerk (but a softie at heart) and an animal lover, Jun CAN actually sing, Nino is the playboy with bitter past, Sho CAN actually draw, and Ohno is not quiet. Other than that, enjoy the story!

20 Chapter 21
Jun was jolting down the notes the teacher wrote down on the board when a tap on his shoulder stopped him. He turned to see who interrupted him and gasped as he saw who the person was.
It was the person who had pushed Aiba away that day and the person that almost kidnapped him.
It’s Nishikido Ryo.
Jun learned the name from Yamashita as well as the fact that the man was the new addition to the student council hierarchy so that means he would live in the west dorm also. Though Jun was still a bit confused why this Ryo had tried to protect him from Aiba even though that was really unnecessary since Jun knew Aiba wouldn’t hurt him.
Jun didn’t know anything about the man but it seemed like the man knew everything about Jun.
Staring up at the smiling man before him, Jun was suddenly nervous. What this man wanted from him? Was this man planned on kidnapping him again?
That thought kind of scared him. Jun wanted to back away but he was still sitting so that option was impossible to do. He was left with the last option.
The music sheet book beside him was quite thick so he picked that book up from the chair and put it in front of him like a shield. It’s not a good shield but at least that showed Ryo that Jun wouldn’t be as easy like that day again.
The way Jun protecting himself with a music book amused Ryo. The book was quite thick but to Ryo it was nothing. With one punch he could make that book become unusable in a second but he wouldn’t do that since he knew that book was important to Jun.
He smiled his best smile at Jun that usually could win everyone’s heart but Jun was unfazed by it. He just blinked back at Ryo and Ryo had actually laughed. Jun might be amazing when he was singing but he was very much different in real life. This gap of Jun made Ryo fell in love with him more and more and even though he knew it was bad for his own heart he just couldn’t help it.
He knelt down in front of Jun and took Jun’s hands in his. The book fell from Jun’s grasp and onto his lap. Jun was too startled by Ryo’s action he didn’t even try to shake Ryo’s hands away.
“I’m sorry for what I did to you some days ago.” Ryo said, his tone calm and soothing. He didn’t want Jun to get scared and run away from him. “I wanted to say that to you and that’s why I come here.”
Ryo’s hands were warm and it was actually quite nice, not as scary as the hold he had on Jun few days ago. Jun could actually see that this person was a good man.
Jun wanted to reply that it’s okay, and even though Jun didn’t really understand why Ryo had behaved strangely before, dragging him and trying on separating him from Aiba, and that he still couldn’t remember who this man was or where they had met before, when Aiba’s voice bloomed from the public speakers and Jun forgot everything.
“This is Aiba Masaki. And before you asked, this is not a prank.”
Jun looked upward at the speaker that was placed on the top of the shelf of the class cabinet. He had forgotten about Ryo already. He didn’t even feel it that Ryo had released his hands.
“Maybe you are wondering why I’m the one who speak here instead of the usual DJ. That’s because I have an important thing to share.”
Aiba stopped again and it got Jun curious. What Aiba wanted to say actually that he talked in such a serious tone? It’s not something dangerous, right?
He heard Aiba cleared his throat before he continued to talk again. “I met this person some years ago when I saw him singing on stage on one of an audition. He captivated me in an instant and I think that’s when I started develop a feeling toward him. I’m also the one who recommended him for the scholarship here so that we could study together here.”
Jun gasped. So it was Aiba who recommended him for the scholarship.
He remembered the Director told him something about someone recommended his name and that’s how the Director saw his audition when he searched for it in the internet, then the Director was impressed with him he gave him the scholarship.
If that’s the truth, then why, why when Aiba saved him from the senior who bullied him he acted like he didn’t know Jun?
“I was so thrilled when I saw his name in the new student list. I wanted to greet him but I don’t have the courage to do it and I’m actually afraid that he would think badly of me so I’ve been waiting, waiting for the perfect chance to introduce myself to him. And when I finally got that chance I’m not prepared at how much I’m attracted to him until I feel like my body is not mine anymore everytime I saw him so I decided to stay away from him.”
So that was why. Jun finally could understand the reason.
“I convinced myself that I hate him, that he didn’t attract me, but of course I’m only lying to myself. I like him, that’s the fact and I hate it to know that for the first time in my life I find someone who I could consider as important. I’m suddenly afraid of my own feelings that was so not me, and that’s why I protected myself by giving him a bad impression about me, hoping that he would hate me.”
“I will never hate you, Masaki.” Jun murmured.
Ryo heard this and it stabbed directly into his own hurting heart. He knew he should stay away but no matter where he goes he would be able to hear the confession anyway. So he stayed.
“But somehow, my heart protested that it hurts, it hurts to get ignored by him. I wanted him to notice me, I wanted him to like me the way I liked him, I wanted him to think of me like how I think of him. And that’s why I devised a stupid plan to win his heart by using a challenge as an excuse but it ended up hurting him and I would never forgive myself for making him suffer.”
Jun was crying by now. He already knew about the real reason why Aiba suggested the challenge from Nino who kindly told him about it but hearing it from Aiba directly was heart-breaking.
“I wanted to make it up to him for all the pain I caused him so when he said to me to prove it to him just how much I love him, I agreed. I thought about the best plan on confession to him for days but in the end I realized that doing it in my own way would be the best. So I chose this way to confess to him. This way I could finally show him that I am serious, that I really want to be with him. I’m not afraid anymore even if people told me I’m being girly and things, because the only thing that matter is him and him only.”
Ryo looked at Jun who still had tears running down his cheeks, probably touched by Aiba’s confession. Ryo had to admit that it was brave of Aiba to admit about his feelings with the whole school listening. Jun was asking for a serious confession and he got what he wanted.
The time seemed to stop as the whole school waited for Aiba to say those last words. No one make a sound as they nervously waiting for Aiba’s next words.
“I love you, Matsumoto Jun.” Aiba said, his voice filled with the love he felt for Jun. “I love you and only you. I’m sorry for hurting you before and I hope you could open your heart once again to me and receive my feelings. Come to the broadcast club right now if you decided that you can forgive me and that you want to be with me. I’ll be waiting for you.”
With that final word the confession ended and the whole school erupted in a loud cheer. The students were happy that they could finally see some humanity from Aiba who usually was aloof and uncaring. They began to make a prediction about the confession and whether Jun would accept it. No one had a doubt that Jun would accept it. They’d seen how the couple behaved when they’re with each other after all.
Back in the classroom, Jun was too shocked with the confession he couldn’t react fast. He was so out of the world after hearing Aiba’s confession. He could only gape like a fish and he had to be helped by Ryo, who gave him the last push for Jun to finally stand up from his seat and run toward the broadcast club. He was hurting so badly to know that Jun would be with Aiba though he still decided to help Jun because he wanted to see Jun happy. He smiled sadly at the direction where Jun disappeared as he whispered, “I love you too, Matsumoto Jun. And I will never forget about this love I have for you.”
++++
Jun ran as fast as his feet could take him to the broadcast club where Aiba was. He was so surprised after hearing Aiba’s confession he almost missed his chance to say the same thing to Aiba too. If it’s not for Ryo who kindly told him to go so that Aiba wouldn’t wait for too long, Jun might still be at the class. He reminded himself to thank Ryo later for his help.
In no time, he arrived at the door to the broadcast club and he stopped to calm his heart that was beating so fast due to all the running he did and also from the nervousness of seeing Aiba after the confession. Taking a deep breath, Jun opened the door and was greeted with an unbelievable sight.
In the middle of the room was Aiba, wearing a formal suit instead of his usual clothes that he wore when he go to class, holding a tiny box in his right hand. His left hand was reached out to Jun as if he’s waiting for Jun to take it. Without a doubt, Jun took the offered hand and was pulled into Aiba’s embrace immediately.
“I’m glad you come.” Aiba murmured.
Jun smiled as he looked up at Aiba. “You think I won’t come?”
“Since I don’t know how you will react to my confession.” Aiba shrugged so casually but Jun could see that Aiba was actually nervous. His aloof attitude was a mask to cover his deeper feeling and Jun was happy to be able to see the imperfect side of Aiba.
“You silly.” Jun scolded Aiba as he pecked the other on the cheek. “You should know by now about my feelings. There’s no way I’m going to reject you after your grand confession and all.”
Aiba just smiled as he hugged Jun tighter. Finally, after some long time struggling with his own feelings, his useless pride, and the stupid challenge, he finally could claim Jun as his.
He wanted to seal this perfect moment with a kiss so he leaned down and captured Jun’s lips with his own. The supposed-to-be innocent kiss lead to something more dangerous that Aiba hadn’t anticipated. Though he should have known there’s no way it could be simple and innocent when it involved Jun.
He broke the kiss hurriedly, worried that he wouldn’t be able to stop. He released Jun from his embrace so that he could get some time to re-organize his lust-fogged brain but Jun wouldn’t let him.
“Make me yours, Masaki.” Jun said and Aiba could only gape in shock. “We’ve been through so much and I don’t want to wait anymore.”
“Jun, are you sure?”
“One-hundred percent.”
Aiba stared at Jun’s eyes that showed his determination and who was he to deny this beautiful angel’s demand?
Stealing another kiss from Jun, he then murmured his answer on Jun’s lips, making the other shivered from the contact.
“Then we will do as you want. Because I love you that much.”
Almost the end, yay!
