Chapter Two: Little Rabbit
The search for her parents. A search, she was beginning to think, that would fail. She had been searching for nearly nine years with no real clue to who they might be. Who was she? The question that would plague her mind day and night. Despairing of her failed searches, Tyrsis found herself among her friends more often. Technosity, Valia, and Akasha. The only people she allowed herself to know. The very people she shared many adventures with. The people who became a family to her. Technosity, a man she considered a father secretly. Valia, a woman she saw as a sister. Akasha, the man she grew to love. These were the people she trusted her life to.
Staying in Technosity’s castle in the sky, Asla-Nab-Shou, there soon came others. Aya, Rain, Kayla, Dragon, and others with them. It seemed strange to Tyrsis to be around so many, but she soon became accustomed to it. Out of, what seemed to be no where, Technosity gave them each Rabbit names, for he said he was creating a Rabbit Guild. Each Rabbit name assigned had something to do with that person’s identity or personality. Tyrsis understood why everyone had their name for they all made sense, but her own. She was stuck with ‘Little Rabbit’. The meaning behind it eluded her and she contemplated on it often. Thinking the name was somehow downgrading her, she became shallow towards Technosity.
Technosity, someone she dared consider a father became almost nothing to her. She even had the audacity to trust him as a friend. This man she came to love became nothing more than a splinter in her foot. She came closer than ever to hating him when he finally puller her into a room. Slapping her forcefully, he demanded to know what her problem was. She didn’t move nor flinch when she answered him, her voice devoid of any kind of emotion. Then came a riddle out of the mouth of Technosity. Nothing new. Just one more riddle that would never make sense. But this particular one caught Tyrsis’ attention. She asked what he meant and he answered once more in the form of a riddle.
“Look at me, I am you!” He finally shouted after a short while.
Tyrsis could feel her eyes grow wide at the realization of what he was saying. She shook her head as everything came together. She couldn’t, no, she wouldn’t believe it. This man she once trusted, knowing what she had been looking for, was the very man she searched for. He was her father. Why hadn’t he told her before? Why wait until now? These questions came pouring out. His answer, she wasn’t ready to know. She couldn’t believe what he had just said. She felt almost deceived. Racing out of the room, she walked down the stone hallway quickly and swiftly, ignoring the questions the others called after her. She sat in her room for what felt like days, going over what had just happened over and over again in her mind. Her father? It didn’t seem possible to her. Yet, there were many things she didn’t notice before that kept pointing out to her the fact that it was true. Even the way she had considered him a father not too long ago. But it just wasn’t possible, was it?
Then came the questions of her mother. If Technosity was her father, who was her mother? He said next to nothing about it when she asked him. Where was she? Where did Technosity meet her? How did he meet her? Why wasn’t she with him now? Could she be dead? And if so, did he kill her, or was it someone else? Tyrsis closed her eyes, her mind racing. It all almost too much for her to bear. She never thought finding her parents was going to be like this. Never even imagined it in this way. But, her mind continued to come to the same thought. Being Technosity’s daughter somehow made sense.
Little Rabbit, a name that had completely eluded her finally came to a rest with the realization of it’s meaning.
