(no subject)
So im writing a cthulhu game. This is odd for one very major reason.
I dont write games.
Normally what happens is i get an idea. A base synopsis of a campaign that i then run games from. Allowing the players to write the game as they go. i just stick monsters in thier way and let them sort it out amongst themselves. this usually makes for a pretty cool game. So far i have around two pages of notes and actual adventures planned out. im actually a little scared of it all. but its pretty cool. im currently at 6 handouts and have a player with a statted character.its going to be awesome.
Also this leads me onto another important point. im going to be running cthulhu again. D&D may have been the birthplace of my RPG gaming, but Cthulhu is my spiritual home. its where i feel most comptant and able to write better stuff on the fly. im so excited about it. im really really looking forward to it. its going to be odd running games again. not just the occasional one off. the last couple ive run from books. this means that generally im not running to my full potential. im using someone elses ideas, not ones that im intimatly familiar with.
also, a quick note to the players since, apprently, it is never a nice story expect much sadness and horror. with some of the stuff im doing im activly seeking to unnerve players, rather than suimply presenting a horror story. i hope i can pull it off, i shall be trying new things. we shall have to wait and see.
