It's gonna be 2011 soon! (Curses!)
And, like all Decembers every year, it's time to pull out the new calendars! ...Or maybe it's still a little too early for that, but you get my point. I suppose you could stash them away in the nearest cupboard until December the 31st.
Either way! I visited CDJapan today with plans of ordering an anime calendar.
I mean... Why not?
#1: I'm an otaku! An anime nerd! What better to make me happy then official anime merchandise?!
#2: I DO need a calendar... And the UOB calendars my mother attempt to shove on me every year makes me facepalm.
#3: I want to try having a wall calendar for once! 8D (W-What kind of reason is that, you idiot?!)
#4: ATLUS released a P3(P) x P4 wall calendar for 2011! I almost flipped off my chair while fangasming when I saw the news. If I haven't already said this, I LOVE ATLUS'S ART, IF MY ETRIAN ODYSSEY FOREST OF ETERNITY ARTBOOK WASN'T ANY HINT. I know that the artists for Etrian Odyssey and the Persona/Shin Megami Tensei series aren't the same, but, AAAH, ATLUS HIRES GOOD ARTISTS. ♥
#5: CDJapan is having a sale, with 10-90% of merchandise. ...Although that's really something of a lie, since everything I've seen while scouring the entire website was only 10% off... There were a few goods which were 20% off, but... Let me reemphasize that... There were A FEW goods which were 20% off...
...But I admit #4 and #5 contributed the most as to why I actually wanted to order a calendar. *sweat*
Anyways, I digress. So yeah, I went to CDJapan in the hopes of ordering a Persona calendar. So what, then? It's nothing PARTICULARLY special. And this Claire doesn't get annoyed easily. ... At least not annoyed for anything more than 5 minutes...
What happened in a nutshell... My entry title says all, yes.
To be more accurate though...
I found the calendar I wanted...
Proceeded to check-out...
And for some reason they were overcharging me. (=_____=) 10% off aside, the shipping fees were supposed to be 650 yen. Pretty decent.
But I was charged about a thousand yen. What the...?
I kid you not. I took screenshots to prove it!
Although I circled it, it's kinda small, so ya might wanna zoom in a bit. Anyways, see? 650 yen.
Next...
1150 yen. This doesn't make sense. And I selected AirMail shipping. As for the quantity... Well, you can see for yourself. So, yes, it really doesn't make sense.
As a result I was kinda forced to use SAL shipping. Which, though cheaper, is... crap. It takes a really long time to be delivered after shipping. But I'm desperate, so it's not as if I really have much of a choice. l:
AND THEY WERE STILL OVERCHARGING ME. 950 YEN. THAT'S LIKE, SHIPPING CHARGE FOR THREE COPIES. THREE.
At least I managed to take off 600 yen with some accumulated points. But still. I oughta write a letter of complaint.
AS IF BEING OVERCHARGED WASN'T BAD ENOUGH, CDJAPAN WENT HAYWIRE WENT I ATTEMPTED TO ORDER MY CALENDAR.
I don't have screenshots for this, but basically, instead of saying the order went through, this whole page of... CODE just appeared.
And refused to disappear.
To clear things up, by 'code', I mean CODE. Like, /href blahblahblah, all the lines off codes that you see for blogskins.
THAT kind of code.
Pressed the back button. Tried again. SAME THING HAPPENED.
Claire now needs to strangle someone. Preferably the person managing CDJapan's online shop.
It's not my mom's credit card's problem, since it worked PERFECTLY FINE when my brother was ordering HIS SNSD calendar. (Yes, my parents have kids who are rabid fanboys/fangirls.)
I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT IS GOING ONNNNNNNNNNNN------!!!
This happened the last time I was trying to order my VALSHE CDs as well. In the end, I had to order from YesAsia. And THAT order went through. Eventually.
And it's not like I can just use another website this time, because CDJapan is the only website I know selling 2011 calendars for preorder (THE Persona calendar, to boot!).
Not to mention KKnM isn't accepting preorders for calendars anymore, either.
CURSE IT.
Now I really need to strangle someone.
I'm gonna try again tomorow. If it STILL doesn't work then, I am REALLY gonna complain about getting overcharged AND to please go correct their crappy server, or else.
Now let's talk about something happier before I choke the nearest person to me to death, which would unfortunately be my brother, poor guy.
TOMOROW! Will be the day of the EOY Cosplay event in Singapore, held at Republic Polytechnic!
I'm gonna be meeting Fish and Pearl at Woodlands MRT, and from there we shall proceed to get lost on the way there! ...Just kidding. Though I wouldn't be kidding if I'm to be the one leading the way there... :P
Time for epicness! Or at least it had better be epic, or 2010 is the worst year for anime conventions in Singapore, EVER. Come on, make my last(?) convention before O-Levels madness memorable in a good way. That's not too much to ask for, is it?
