The song is apparently sampling a 1956 Italian song that translates to "I pretend to be American," and was the original author's reaction to the post-war American influence in his hometown. According to what I've read, Yolanda Be Cool is an Australian group, and this song is a big hit over in the UK and Europe this year! If that's the case, I can tell you right now, you'd NEVER hear this on US radio, much less have it top the charts. I can bet on that.
