Summary:
Wooyoung had been playing bodyguard for his best friend, Nichkhun, from crazy fangirls and anti-fans since they were kids. Other than keeping Nichkhun at a safe distance, he liked the “reflex” exercise once in awhile. Life was good at Magnolia High School until boys started to have crushes on him. And he didn’t know what to do!
Nichkhun, The Prince liked Wooyoung’s protective instinct to a T. When boys started to show interest in Wooyoung, he thought it was time for him to protect Wooyoung against love-struck predators.
Chaos ensued as three very well-known boys vied for Wooyoung’s heart. Will Nichkhun be able to stop them? Or will he… join them?

Smaller build didn’t equate to being weak. It was never within Wooyoung’s dictionary. So, he refused Nichkhun’s help in carrying the shopping bags. Recently, Nichkhun’s been acting strange, always trying to be all gentleman on him like... like he was some girl or something. He was a man! A man! Nothing about him looked even remotely like a girl. And, he noticed Nichkhun’s recent liking to walk slowly, as though letting Wooyoung lead the way, when usually they walk side by side or Nichkhun leaving him to catch up due to his shorter legs.
“Why are you walking behind me?” Wooyoung stopped abruptly.
Nichkhun whose eyes were fixed on the sexy buns in skinny jeans, bumped into Wooyoung’s back, causing him to jump away slightly. “Sorry.”
“What!?”
“I was just deep in thought.” Nichkhun shrugged and slapped himself mentally for showing signs of a schoolgirl crush over Wooyoung. Not like he had a crush on him, really.
Wooyoung’s features softened. “Care to share with me?”
“It’s nothing too serious, you know.” Nichkhun wound an arm around Wooyoung’s shoulders. “I was just thinking of what to get for your birthday. Maybe I should ask you.”
“My birthday? Hmm.” The shorter boy scratched his chin, pretended to think. “Surprise me!”
“Ha! I can do that, princess.” Nichkhun kissed his temple before letting him go. “What shall we watch?”
Wooyoung scanned the list rolling on the screen in front of them. “Thai horror?”
“Oh, are you brave enough?”
“Just coz I’m not Thai, I’m not brave enough? Are you kidding me? Huh! Bring it on!” Wooyoung braced both hands on his hips; chest puffed out a bit in an act of looking macho but really, looked like a miniature King Kong.
Suppressing the laughter that was about to erupt in him, Nichkhun shook his head and went up to the counter. He chose the couple seat at the back and bought popcorns and cokes. Taking his stuff, he went towards Wooyoung, which the latter immediately took a coke.
When their theatre was ready, they went in. There was only a few people inside, mostly sitting in the middle row. Wooyoung was surprised to find that they were seating in the couple seat. He put their shopping bags beneath them.
“I should’ve known you’d choose this seat.” Wooyoung sighed.
“What? You don’t like it?”
“It’s ok. I don’t mind.”
“I like being close to you.” Nichkhun hugged him, nuzzling his sensitive earlobes.
Wooyoung shivered from the sudden electrifying moment that caused his toes to curl. Damn. What. Just. Happened?
“Here, take my sweater.” Nichkhun draped it over Wooyoung’s frame. “Don’t worry about me. My hot blood keeps me hot.”
Wooyoung would have made puking faces if he wasn’t feeling aroused. And damn, why was he aroused over something like that? It wasn’t even the first time Nichkhun did that to him. They’ve been together for a zillion years and it had never affected him that way. Sighing, Wooyoung filed away that thought and relaxed himself as the movie was about to start. This was Nichkhun. His best friend and childhood friend. There was nothing to worry about.

The horrible looking half-skulled-pale-blood-soaked girl leapt forward causing Wooyoung to almost jump in his seat. His fingers unconsciously clutched onto Nichkhun’s side as he scooted closer. Nichkhun smiled and wrapped a protective arm around the figure. Wooyoung seemed to relax a bit, knowing that he was safe with Nichkhun.
Wooyoung regretted having chosen a Thai horror flick. Oh god, how was he going to sleep at night with all this terrifying figures running around in his head? On screen, the girl was walking by some bed when a pale hand grabbed her and pulled her under. Wooyoung instinctively pulled up his legs and scooted even nearer to Nichkhun, almost sitting on his lap.
“I thought it was going to grab my legs.” Wooyoung whispered in Nichkhun’s ear.
Nichkhun felt the hot breath caressing his ear, making his inside warm. “Don’t worry; I won’t let it even if it’s there.” He chuckled at Wooyoung’s shocked look.
“It’s not really here in the theatre right?” Wooyoung’s face paled slightly.
Nichkhun suddenly turned serious. “What is that?”
Wooyoung gulped and turned slowly to where Nichkhun was pointing and right there, was indeed a white being. He let out a shrill scream and climbed into Nichkhun’s lap, burying his face in Nichkhun’s shoulder.
“Shh, it’s ok, it was just a girl.” Nichkhun sighed. Mistaken identity, he thought.
The show continued on with Wooyoung peeking over his shoulder bit by bit and then he was back in his relaxed self although he was sitting close with his left leg over Nichkhun’s right thigh, dangling in between. Once it was over, he pulled Wooyoung into an ice-cream cafe and treated him to a big bowl of ice-cream, which they polished off without problems.
“You have ice-cream on your face.” Nichkhun watched Wooyoung trying to get it with his tongue. “You silly fool.” He laughed.
“Where? I can’t reach it.”
“Here.” Nichkhun used his thumb and swiped the chocolate ribble off his chin and let it glide over Wooyoung’s lips which the latter had no problem sucking his thumb. The feeling that came with it nearly undid Nichkhun. His nostrils flared as his groin tightened. Damn, Wooyoung.
“Hmm?” Those red lips wrapped around his thumb, glistened with saliva. He gave Nichkhun a last lick before pulling off like nothing happened. Like he didn’t know what he’d stirred in the taller boy. “Did I do something wrong, Nichkhun?”
Wooyoung didn’t want to look like he enjoyed it, so he pasted his confused look. The older boy just shook his head, and smiled.
“I would let you suck even more if we’re in your house or mine.” Nichkhun suddenly blushed. “I meant the ice-cream, you know.”
“Yeah, of course.” Wooyoung wiped his fingers on the serviette and made a move to stand. “Let’s head home, I’m beat and mom’s cooking dinner.”
Nichkhun glanced quickly at Wooyoung’s crotch out of curioustiy. Is that a tent he saw? Could it be that Wooyoung felt what he felt? He adjusted himself discreetly before following behind Wooyoung’s cute butt.

That night, Nichkhun was awakened by Wooyoung’s trashing. He glanced over at the nightstand and noted it was only two in the morning. Nichkhun groaned when Wooyoung punch his ribs in his sleep.
“Shit, Wooyoung, wake up. It’s just a dream.” Nichkhun pulled the trashing figure into his arms, trapping Wooyoung arms and legs with his. “Shh, shh. It’s ok, now. I’m here.”
Wooyoung looked up at him, his eyes still glazed with sleep. “Erm, Nichkhun, you’re here. The ghost was trying to get you.” He turned to face Nichkhun and snuggled closer.
“So, what did you do?”
“I boxed the hell out of it.” Wooyoung chuckled. Then his voice softened. “And another ghost was trying to kill you; I was so scared when she had the axe over your head.”
“My hero.” Nichkhun kissed his hair. “You’re safe here with me.” He always thought this side of Wooyoung was cute since only he got to see this side of him. The rest of the world sees only his tough side.
“I don’t know what I’d do without you.” Wooyoung mumbled before drifting back to sleep.
“Perish that thought, love.” Nichkhun hugged him closer. “I’ll always be there for you when you need me or not.”
