After the tour was over,Adam and Kris decided to rent a small apartment together in LA. Kris still officially lived in Conway and Adam still lived in San Diego, but,LA was where they needed to be to record and do business related things.

Drake had his own place. But he seemed to be at Adam and Kris' place all the time.He had a key and seemed to pop in anytime he wanted to.

"He's my boyfriend,Kris" Adam whined, after Kris confronted Adam about Drake's almost constant presence in their apartment.

"He ate the last of the Captain Crunch,he leaves dirty socks all over the place,he never washes the dishes..."

I'll talk to him,OK?

"Yeah,you do that"

But the "talking" turned into an hour long mattress bouncing session instead. While Kris tossed and turned in his bed alone.

"I wish Adam "talked" to me that way" and he was so alone and so lonely, he didn't realize he had said it out loud.

It wasn't long before Adam asked Drake to move into the apartment he was still sharing with Kris. He was going to move his stuff in on Saturday.

"He won't take up much room" Adam joked.
"We're talking about your boyfriend not a puppy"
"What's wrong Kris?" "Jealous?" he asked teasingly
"Yes." Adam could see the hurt in Kris'big brown eyes.
Adam looked at him for a long moment,realizing he was serious.
Kris turned and started to walk away.

"Wait",Adam stopped him with a hand on his shoulder,"I ,we,have something to tell you" 'When Drake gets home we all need to talk.

Later that afternoon they gathered around the kitchen table.
"Kris" Adam began,"this seemed like a good idea at the beginning,but,I don't know,maybe.."

"Maybe",Drake continued,"you should have been in on this from the beginning" "I'm an actor,I was hired by 19E to pose as Adam's boyfriend"
"What?"

"I mean,we're friends and all, but there's never been anything romantic between us."

"Management thought it would look better to the public if I was in a relationship" Adam explained "Make me look more settled down,more responsible"
"Then,when all this bromance and Kradam crap started," "it just seemed like a good idea to keep things like they were."

"Well,if some people were more careful what they said in interviews..." Drake sighed,looking at both of them,"I could be making a movie in Hawaii right now."

"But what about the other night?"

"Playing Twister, the box is under the bed , you can check if you want."
"We put the mat on top of the bed,makes all kinds of noise that way"

"Oh" was all Kris could say.

"Well," "I'm off to Vegas for the weekend,gonna see my real boyfriend" Drake said with a wink. "You guys work this out okay?"

Adam reached across the table and squeezed Kris' hand. Kris looked up. their eyes met and they both smiled.
"That was a surprise."
Kris stood up and started to leave the kitchen.Adam followed him.

"It's always been you Kris" Adam said softly,"from the minute I saw you."
"But I had to do this, to protect our careers.To protect you..."

"I understand," but why not tell me?"
"Your weren't into guys,you weren't into me"
"How did you know?" "did anybody ask me?"
Adam looked shocked.

"Adam,I knew I loved you the minute I saw you too." Kris said quietly."It almost killed me seeing you and Drake together everyday." "Holding hands,whispering,laughing together"

"When we were out somewhere." "On the tour,at a club."Did we really spend that much time together when there were'nt cameras around?"

Kris thought for a moment, "Yeah,I guess,not really"

"Drake's a great guy." "Maybe if we met a different time in,a different way,but,when I met the cutest guy ever, he was wearing a plaid shirt and carrying a guitar..."

They stopped in the doorway.Adam reached down to place a gentle kiss on Kris' soft lips.Kris reached his hands up into Adam's feathery black hair.The kiss was long,passionate but loving at the same time. Like they had waited their entire lives for this one moment.

Because they had.
