Title: The Prince's Princess
Author: ai_ai_gasa2
Pairing: Lots! Takanoo and some Hikabu, a bit of Ariokamoto, and Chiitaro~
Rating: Probably, overall, PG-13. But they're all individually really safe. Like PG or something.
Genre: Romance, Fluff, very AU.
Summary: The Queen of the South Kingdom died of a sickness quite early on in life. The King never remarried, but did adopt 5 sons. Many years later, it is time now for his children to begin looking for wives, and the King also decides to adopt a daughter, planning a matchmaking ball for her in advance. But the adoption process is delayed... And Prince Inoo has no choice but to step in and play the princes in his to-be-sister's place.
A/N: Hey~ For those people out there that like the Ariokamoto element to this story, my epic and asweome awesome sister ryosukekoibito (who wrote the awesome Heisei Kumi, JUMP yakuza story) has decided she wants to write a kind of spinnoff to this story, the same tale just revolving around their relationship. It will take a while for her to write it, seeing as she is working on Gaining Your Love right now (Which I know some people here are reading, as you should, it is wonderful. :3) So tell me if you're interested in reading it! It's going to be fantastic. :3
There's your public service announcement! I hope you like this chapter! :D

mso-bidi-font-family:Kartika;mso-bidi-font-weight:bold">            Inoo woke to his nose being squished, nearly flattened, to his face. He kept his eyes insistently closed, still tired.

mso-bidi-font-weight:bold">            “Whadaya want…” He grumbled, words barely recognizable. There was a laugh, but that was the only response besides another poke. It made him scrunch up his face involuntarily, then again. Finally, he opened his eyes.

mso-bidi-font-weight:bold">            “What do you want...?” he asked again, sitting up blearily. Takaki burst out laughing.

mso-bidi-font-weight:bold">            “So we’re doing this waking up thing again, are we?” Inoo asked him. Takaki nodded.

mso-bidi-font-weight:bold">            “Sorta.” He responded. “It’s only me this time.”

mso-bidi-font-weight:bold">            Inoo saw that this was true-the bedroom was empty except for the two of them. He briefly wondered how long Takaki had been in here before he realized that Takaki could have been trying to wake him up for a while now without succeeding. Despite them getting in rather early, it had been a long night.

mso-bidi-font-weight:bold">            When the Northern King finally stepped inside the threshold, the first thing he did was bow, low, to their father, expressing his apologies and gratitude.

mso-bidi-font-weight:bold">            Then, Ayaki’s face when they brought Mr. Okamoto in, wrists wrapped behind his back in chains. Her scream as their father recited the words “You are under arrest for treason towards your kingdom, terrorism, and the attempts on 3 royal lives”, as though if she could drown it out, it wouldn’t be true. The desperate look she sent on Takaki’s direction, as if asking him to help her, though Inoo didn’t know, honestly, what good it would do.

mso-bidi-font-weight:bold">            There had been another scream coming from the hallway. Keito, surprisingly, was in the lead as they all rushed out into the hallway. There were two palace guards, one holding Mrs. Okamoto’s hands behind her back. The other, upon seeing Keito, seized his arm.

mso-bidi-font-weight:bold">            “You are under arrest for-”

mso-bidi-font-weight:bold">            “No!” Daiki cut him off, wrenching the guard off and pushing himself between them. “I won’t let you-”

mso-bidi-font-weight:bold">            “Daiki!” The King’s voice cut through all the chaos, sharp. “What’s going on here?”

mso-bidi-font-weight:bold">            “Dad, they’re trying to arrest-”

mso-bidi-font-weight:bold">            “And what’s the problem?”

mso-bidi-font-weight:bold">            “They’re innocent.”

mso-bidi-font-weight:bold">            “Daiki, please don’t-”

mso-bidi-font-weight:bold">            “Just because their dad did what he did doesn’t mean they’re involved!” Daiki was nearly yelling at his father, reciting the words that Keito had told him. “They didn’t know this was happening, I promise. They didn’t do anything wrong.” Daiki was glaring, daring their father to challenge his words. Inoo saw his hand snake from Keito’s bicep to his hand, a very subtle gesture, giving it a squeeze.

mso-bidi-font-weight:bold">            “But Daiki, it’s dangerous.”

mso-bidi-font-weight:bold">            No response.

mso-bidi-font-weight:bold">            “We… We’ll have a trial for them. Tomorrow morning, alright?”

mso-bidi-font-weight:bold">            Daiki gave their father a look, prompting the man to say “Nothing will happen to them over the night. I promise.”

mso-bidi-font-weight:bold">            Inoo felt his stomach clench, and he turned to Takaki, asking desperately “What time is it?”

mso-bidi-font-weight:bold">            “15 till noon, why?”

mso-bidi-font-weight:bold">            “The… Keito’s trial?”

mso-bidi-font-weight:bold">            “Last time I checked, it was still going on… Daiki’s pacing in front of the door, practically ripping out his hair. That’s one of the reasons I woke you.”

mso-bidi-font-weight:bold">            Before Inoo could respond, Yuto walked in. He looked pale.

mso-bidi-font-weight:bold">            “The...” he had to swallow, then start again “The trial results-”

mso-bidi-font-weight:bold">            That was all he had to say, all Inoo heard before he jumped out of bed, getting downstairs before either of the others that had been in his room with him. They were all in the front room, and their father was issuing the verdict.

mso-bidi-font-weight:bold">            “Your father was involved in horrible treachery. The two of you however, have shown no displays of treason, want to commit treason, or events of past treason toward your kingdom, so we have no reason to believe anything except that you two are innocent.”

mso-bidi-font-weight:bold">            Daiki smiled in relief. At the word "But", the beginning of the King's next sentence, it fell.

mso-bidi-font-weight:bold">            "...your father was involved in horrible treachery. For the safety of my family more than anything else, I will have to ask you to leave this castle, with guards escorting you out. I'm sorry, but this is how it has to be." The king apologized.

mso-bidi-font-weight:bold">            "What... No! You can't do that!" Daiki shouted out when the full weight of what their father had said finally registered. Keito and his mother were still being kicked out.

mso-bidi-font-weight:bold">            "Please reconsider. Dad, he won't hurt me." Daiki begged.

mso-bidi-font-weight:bold">            "Daiki, I've thought over this, and while I believe in their innocence, I can't risk any of you getting injured or killed by any of the surviving terrorists. Offspring or otherwise."

mso-bidi-font-weight:bold">            "They aren't terrorists. If you make Keito go," Daiki walked over, taking the boy's hand "Then you're forcing me to leave as well."

mso-bidi-font-weight:bold">            "Son-"

mso-bidi-font-weight:bold">            "Daiki, no." Keito interrupted the King to shake his head quickly, trying to remove his hand from Daiki's own, twisting his fingers, but it came to no avail. "This... This palace is your life. Your future. I wouldn't be able to live with myself if I took a promising life from you."

mso-bidi-font-weight:bold">            "We... We've been together for this long, and you still don't get it?!" Daiki gave Keito a strong look, squeezing his hand tighter. "I love you Keito. You are my future." Daiki turned to their father.

mso-bidi-font-weight:bold">            "Either it's none of us, or both of us. We're a set-take it or leave it."

mso-bidi-font-weight:bold">            The king looked baffled, able only to stare at them.

mso-bidi-font-weight:bold">            "Daiki I love you too but... Please don't do this." Keito was desperate. "You need to stay here."

mso-bidi-font-weight:bold">            Daiki was staring straight into his father's eyes. Adamant.

mso-bidi-font-weight:bold">            "Well, I definitely have no idea what's going on here. But... Daiki, I can't kick you out. I just... I can't do that to you. And I've had no reason to doubt the two of you personally, but..." he seemed quite conflicted, wanting only the best. "I... It'll take time, but for now, I'll trust you. Until otherwise, you can stay."

mso-bidi-font-weight:bold">            Chinen let out a cheer, which was taken up by the others. Mrs. Okamoto let out a breath. Daiki and Keito looked so relieved-Daiki took Keito's lips with his own, tangling his fingers gently in the taller boy's hair with his free hand as he kissed him.

mso-bidi-font-weight:bold">            "You can stay..."

mso-bidi-font-weight:bold">            "Daiki." The King spoke up, interrupting the moment. "What would you have done if I had made Okamoto-kun go? If I'd said you had to leave?" he wanted to see if Daiki had been bluffing.

mso-bidi-font-weight:bold">            Dead serious, Daiki sent an unforgettable piercing look at his father, saying "I'll go pack then."

mso-bidi-font-weight:bold">            The depth of which Daiki loved Keito was finally made to light. Though Inoo had heard quite a bit about it, he hadn't seen it until now. It stunned everyone. Keito gathered Daiki onto his arms, Inoo afraid for a moment that he might cry.

mso-bidi-font-weight:bold">            The King beckoned the two aside with his finger, leading them into a corner to talk. They came back about 10 minutes later, blushing, holding hands, but happy.

mso-bidi-font-weight:bold">            "Keito's moving into my bedroom. Help me move his stuff." Daiki requested them, Chinen breaking out into a grin as Hikaru whooped, embarrassing the pair even further.

mso-bidi-font-weight:bold">            Though Yamada said he'd help, he'd mysteriously disappeared before they'd reached the boy's room. Due to much goofing off, the task took longer than expected, but due to Keito's lack of stuff, it still took a little less than twenty minutes. Inoo now stood in alone in Keito's old, and empty, room.

mso-bidi-font-weight:bold">            Takaki strolled in. "Anything else?"

mso-bidi-font-weight:bold">            Inoo shook his head, the two settling into a slightly uncomfortable silence. Inoo fished through his brain for a topic, finally settling on one.

mso-bidi-font-weight:bold">            "Well Prince, I guess you'll have to call off the wedding." Inoo turned to Takaki. "Disappointed?"

mso-bidi-font-weight:bold">            "Nah." Takaki laughed a bit at the prospect "If I had married Ayaki..." Takaki trailed off, staring hard at his feet before catching Inoo's eyes "I would've spent my whole life wishing that she was someone else."

mso-bidi-font-weight:bold">            The eye contact made it obvious as to who this someone else was. Inoo blushed as he realized-this was a confession. His heart skipped, elated-he was tired of this moment being delayed, being interrupted. Takaki looked down at his feet

mso-bidi-font-weight:bold">            "If you had married Ayaki," Inoo began slowly, pausing to regain eye contact "I would've spent my life wishing that I was her."

mso-bidi-font-weight:bold">            The space between them was closed in two steps on Takaki's part. Now in Takaki's arms, Inoo held him close. He'd missed it, though this was only the first time.

mso-bidi-font-weight:bold">            "I don't actually want to be Ayaki, you know. That would make me a crazed orphan in a prison cell."

mso-bidi-font-weight:bold">            Takaki laughed, hugging Inoo tighter. A sentence escaped Inoo's lips before he'd even thought the phrase.

mso-bidi-font-weight:bold">            "I love you."

mso-bidi-font-weight:bold">            "Hey," The words brought a huge smile to Takaki's lips. He looked at Inoo. "I thought you only "really liked" me."

mso-bidi-font-weight:bold">            Inoo shrugged. He then began to giggle, saying "It's alright―you guys can come out now, I won't be mad."

mso-bidi-font-weight:bold">            "Huh?"

mso-bidi-font-weight:bold">            A hesitant Ryutaro, Shintaro, and pouty faced Chinen came out from behind the corner.

mso-bidi-font-weight:bold">            "How did you know we were there?" Chii asked.

mso-bidi-font-weight:bold">            "They were listening?! You little-" Takaki began, taking a step forward.

mso-bidi-font-weight:bold">            "Scary~mso-bidi-font-family:Kartika;mso-bidi-font-weight:bold">" Chinen ran, cowering behind Ryutaro. He wrapped his arms around the taller boy's middle, snuggling his face into his back.

mso-bidi-font-weight:bold">            We didn't start eavesdropping on purpose, you know." Shintaro informed them, though he was grinning "We came to find you. It's lunch time. Mrs. Nakajima prepared a picnic for us in the front yard."
