He nods again, feeling as though he should be looking down at his hands, but only one of them is in his lap, the other still at Alex's shoulder, with his arm wrapped around him.

He nods, a little, to his now-completely-healed right arm, which the day before had been rather thoroughly burned, before Nick had taken care of it.

The one that was worse than a burned arm.

He touches a spot on his chest, lightly. There's no scar, because Nick does exceptionally good work.
It's surprising how many people still don't realize that a man's heart is in the center of his chest. So many of them aim too far to the left.
He's watching his hand, not looking at Alex.
