So, my buddy invited me to church the other day. At first I thought that it was a really wierd suggestion. It took me a minute to say yes, but I finally did. We went to his house, I got to meet his family, and then we went to church. His father is the preacher, and I tell you, he was something else. He was a powerful guy. He wasn't the fire and brimstone kind of preacher, but when he talked about important stuff, his arms were a-flailin'. I told them that I was a voice student at Marshall, and they asked me to sing a song. I sang a few lines from "Give Me Jesus", and everything was great. They enjoyed me being there, and I admit that I enjoyed myself as well. Oh...it was an Apostalic church. I tell you, I had a good time.
Wierd, huh?
Why was I invited? Did my friend think that I needed to find God? Not at all. He invited me because I was one of the only friends that he had who actually GOES to church. I think he needed a friend, and I was happy to oblige.
That got me thinking. I have a lot of what I call "friendly acquaintances." You know those people who you talk to, maybe share a hobby with, or a convenient lunch partner. Those people. The people you know, but that aren't really your friends. They aren't people who you trust enough to give them your darkest secrets. Well...I have a lot of those. I don't have a lot of friends. That is very depressing!
I'm not depressed or anything. I do have a few really good friends, and I love them to death. But I don't have many. I think one of the reasons why i'm so inarticulate is that I don't have many people that I can talk to. It really sucks. I want more friends. I mean real friends.
So, getting away from that......I love my lady-type.
Moving on.
Operation Dice Drop (
http://www.dicedrop.com) is picking up again. We're teaming up with the Anime society here on campus to raise funds to go to DragonCon this coming August. If you are a geek, and you want to go to where all the geeky stuff is, then this is the place to go! Also, we had a successful meeting, and we found a lot more gamers to play with. So that's good.
I have also commissioned some artists I know to create a standard (meaning a noble house's symbol) for a character that I play. Here is one of their portrayals.
http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y230/Impressario5/Sembelyn.jpg I tell you, that is a good piece of art. I commissioned it, and I am going to pay for it. Artists need to eat too, y'know!
So anywho....that's pretty much it.
Read my fiction. Write a review.
Give me a call! 740-317-0281. I love talking to people.
In closing....I love my lady-type.
