If I'd went to school, I could tell you. Sadly, I was a little busy.

So the best I can tell you is that you just pick it up, dial a number, and say "hello".

... That said, this isn't the police station, is it.

... Come to think of it, I don't even know if they teach about telephones in school. Not that it does any good if they do right now.

Nobody important. Just a kid trying to... Eh, report something, I guess. It's hard to be vague about. Where did I end up calling, though? Is this a private residence?

I suppose it is, in some ways. This is Mayfield. All the phones are connected to each other.
