[Mayfield residents may notice a new person with an odd hairstyle wandering around. Rather than staying in the house and speak on the phone, this one decided to wander around first, a curious expression on her face. She seems quite intent on exploring the entirety of the town.]
[It would be nice to say hello, right?]
what's this?,

... Odd hair is right. You look pretty young to have hair that color, never mind the style. Eyebrow raising at that, and what you seem to be up to.] Having fun?

Are you new here?

I suppose I am. What is this place?

I guess that makes me the first for once. In that case, welcome to Mayfield. There's not much else to say that you haven't really figured out yourself; it's a town that kidnaps people and forces them to live here after taking away most everything you own. And nobody seems to know how or why.

I was wondering why things felt so different.

If there's anything you're particularly missing, you'll likely get it back eventually. It doesn't make sense that they'd take it away just to give it back later on, but that's how it goes here.
That aside, if you have any more questions, I can try to answer them. I've been here for a couple of months now, and while I'm far from an expert, I do know a few things.

Clearly they are powerful, if they take away my nature and are willing to return it.
Tell me, are all of us here prisoners in this place?

Ah, that's right. They return your special powers too, if you have any. [She's still surprised that she's without *her* uniqities and still human; given what she knows, she'd expect to be a monster long before now in her current state, but somehow that hasn't happened yet.] And yes, that's the gist of it. Just about everyone you meet who doesn't seem to think everything's just fine would be one of us. The rest are drones.

Drones? As in they lack will?

... That's a good way of putting it. They apparently exist just to fill in the gaps in our pretend families. And to weird us out. Oh, and try not to do anything crazy, or you'll end up as one for a little while.

Thank you very much miss!

You're welcome, but just call me Lucia. And is there anything else you'd like to ask?

Oh, before I forget, in case you haven't been told yet, or figured it out yourself, the house you woke up in is "yours".
