damn..

1st, the only real moderate judge appointed on the Supreme Court bench steps down, now we find out another one of the greatest R&B singers of all time just passed. Not a good day huh?

RIP Luther Ronzoni Vandross Jr (April 20, 1951 - July 1, 2005)

damn, in a time where things just get worse when it comes to the state of music. What with the oversaturation of thoughtless crap plaguing the airwaves. It's harder to cope with the fact that we're losing those who were truly recognized as genuine artists who were part of a foundation that made us all who we are in one way or another. I'm not just talking about Mr. Vandross either (althoguh he is an important factor here), but a lot of the greats who we've lost over the past couple of years since the turn of the century. A lot of those who we grew up on, or have influenced us all in not only some of our music, but in our day to day lives and how we live our lives...

although i don't believe i should fully weep for the future of music just yet. I'm really optimistic, though all the utter garbage that's out there right now, there will be some great things emerging through it all..

damn, i hope none of this sounds pretentious, if it does, i apologize
