Talk about going to hell in a handbasket. Tonight at work was insane. Absolutely insane. First off my plant (Plant 1) has two shifts. Day shift lost 4 people and their supervisor. Our shift, night shift lost 2 people and our supervisor. On top of that we work 10 hours 4 days a week. They are talking about going down to 3 days a week. That's less than full time people. Even if they ran 12 hour shifts.... thats only 36 hours. So everyone, and I mean everyone was going nuts. Our new supervisor was the only one who was semi-calm. The QC guy was jumping down my neck about my parts. And I lost my reserve. I didn't argue back, but I stopped speaking to him. Which is saying alot because he's one of my favorite people on the shift. Also the Plant manager might be getting fired, and the other plant manager isn't exactly in good standings either.
Our plant was ALREADY short staffed. So from a staff that's already suffering because they had some stupid "hireing freeze" in place we lost 8 more people. Day and night shift now have about half as many people as we should have. Between the two shifts we have ONE WHOLE SHIFT. It's craziness. I left work early tonight. I lost my temper. I couldn't take all the yelling and argueing and craziness. I'm going to bed early so I can wake up at a decent hour and put in my application at a couple other factories down on Dove. And while I'm at it call a couple other places that I had previously put in an application.
Oh. But at the beginning of this madness..... the HR lady told me I was approved to go to plant 2. So that's good. Hopefully I will get a job elsewhere with better pay and better benefits. If not, hopefully things are nicer at plant 2. I know the foreman over there is meaner. *sigh* Let's see how things go.
