Summary: Damian has doubts about his sexuality. Colin is there for reassurance.
Colin was still rubbing the sleep from his eyes as he trudged behind Damian at a sedated pace.
“Y’know, not that I’m not grateful for being invited here or anything,” he paused to yawn, smacking his lips together as the deep breath of fresh air helped him to wake up a bit more. He jogged forward to catch up to Damian’s quick strides. “But I don’t see why I couldn’t have gotten dressed before you dragged me out of bed to see the grounds - Oh, thanks.”
Colin took the proffered bagel from Damian’s outstretched hand and bit into it, happily silenced for the moment.
“You’re surprisingly difficult to wake,” Damian explained, shoving his hands back into his oversized hoodie for warmth. “If we had waited around for you to change, we would have missed our window of opportunity.”
Colin’s head twisted back around from staring at one of the many gargoyle statues that littered the expansive yard. “What window? Did you want me to see the sunrise or something?”
He looked up at the sky as he asked the question, and Damian snorted in lieu of answering. The sun had already risen nearly an hour ago.
They stopped short at a low hedge, Damian taking a moment to find where the branches weren’t connected so he could squeeze through. He waited several seconds before reaching back over to snag Colin by the button up pajama shirt and drag him through as well.
“Hey, was that a gravesite back up on that hill?”
Damian decided it to be in their best interests if he didn’t let go of Colin’s shirt as he started walking once more, forcing him to keep up.
“I promise to show you every inch of the manor and its lands if you keep your eyes forward and stop asking questions.”
“Does this mean you’ll answer all my questions later?” Colin’s voice was muffled by another bite of bagel.
Rather than reply, Damian released his hold and stood on his toes to peer over a brick wall that surrounded a solid glass building.
“Is this a greenhouse?” Colin whispered, quickly catching on that he was meant to be quiet.
“Come on,” Damian ordered, hoisting himself up onto the wall. “Hurry.”
Shoving his bagel into his mouth, Colin followed followed Damian along the wall’s edge to the nearby tree where they climbed the branches until they were hovering over the building. Putting his finger to his lips, Damian adjusted his stance for better balance before reaching out and lifting one of the glass panels up and propping it open.
Colin leaned forward and rested his elbows on the windowsill. After a moment of staring at him, scandalized at his complete lack of ninja finesse, Damian shrugged and followed suit.
Together they looked at the Olympic-sized swimming pool down below and watched the figure within do laps under the water, only coming up when breathing was necessary.
“That’s not Aquaman, is it?”
“Yes.” Damian rested his chin on his arms. “Batman wanted to keep him locked in the basement, but he dries out like a mummy if isn’t allowed near a body of water every four hours or so.”
He refused to meet Colin’s incredulous stare, allowing himself to smirk only after Colin realized it was a joke and punched him in the arm for it.
“So, who is-?”
“It’s Grayson.” Damian cleared his throat. “Dick Grayson.”
The next few minutes passed by in silence, with Colin finishing up his breakfast and Damian listening to the peaceful sound of the water slapping against the edges of the pool.
The second Damian perked, Colin was immediately at attention. The two boys watched as Dick swam over to the ladder in the far corner, facing away from the window. Neither of them blinked while Dick pulled himself out of the pool, his muscles flexing and causing the rivulets of water running off his back to twist and turn in ways that made Damian’s mouth go dry.
From the corner of his eye, Damian saw Colin’s mouth drop as the rest of Dick’s body followed his torso, revealing that he swam the same way he dressed - commando.
The clear view of his ass was made even clearer as Dick bent over to snag the towel he had carelessly discarded on the ground. The view remained in HD quality as he stayed in that position to dry his hair and legs.
“Damian,” Colin choked out. “I-I have to tell you something. I think I might be gay.”
The low breath Damian let out nearly sounded like a sigh of relief. “Yeah. Me too.”
The End
A/N: Because Dick’s ass would turn anyone gay.
