bluetooth.

I just noticed, everytime my life is just about to become like one of those really corny scenes from the stories I read, I always always stuff it up. Because I am such a slow person. It’s actually quite funny really, at my expense.
So I was sitting on the train on the way home from work, mucking around with my phone. In my work clothes looking all tired and homely, a kiddish scrawl of ‘Sandwich Chefs’ embroidered across back. As the train began approaching North Melbourne, I went to go and stand near the door (This was also mainly because a person that came and sat in front of me really smelled funny).  I looked around the train to see this guy sitting in a seat nearby looking at me, then he smiled at me. Being polite, I smiled back, then continued reading this story on my phone. Totally engrossed, it was something about Axel and Roxas and hearts and Valentine’s Day… What? It’s not like I have anything better to do sitting on the train for 40 minutes by myself.

After a few minutes, the guy comes up and stands in front of the door like me, doing something on his phone. ‘Oh, okay then’. Five seconds later, a bluetooth request pops up on my screen, ‘Accept incoming file?’. So then I’m thinking ‘Oh maybe it’s one of those promotions from the station like how the cinemas send you discount vouchers for popcorn, nah I don’t need that’  Pressed ‘No’.
I glance up to see him fiddling with his phone and looking at me like I was supposed to say something. ‘Oh..OHHHHH, it was him!  Crap, Oops’.

I just looked down and kept my eyes glued on my phone for the rest of the trip, then we just both got off at North Melbourne and I power-walked all the way up the escalators.

Well, what did you expect from me?
Story of my life.
