Today was my first day of a class that immediately pertains to what I want to do with my life: Perspectives in Cultural Anthropology. It was very exciting! The professor seems pretty fun, and seems to have a similar way of looking at the world to mine. That's important since, as we went through a really quick overview of the history of anthropology, we starting talking about Claude Levi-Strauss, whose whole theory was based on binaries. To explain this concept, she asked the class about how many sexes, genders, sexualities, and races there are based on classical thinking. I hate binaries. That's another reason I don't think I could study anthropology in France, since they LOVE Levi-Strauss.

This afternoon, I had a strange experience. Someone whose phone number I didn't recognize called my cell and started speaking in Spanish. It took about 5 minutes for her to realize that I didn't know exactly what was going on and she switched to English. It was a wrong number. Very confusing.
