After weeks of touring with bands, going to parties, drinking a lot, wasting money of cheap trinkets, and generally having a fun time, I’ve decided to settle down and concentrate on the things that really need to be taken care of. For the first time this summer, I’ve been aggressively looking for jobs. I completely redesigned my resume in order to compensate for my lack of real job experience by putting down how many activities, awards, and skills I’ve picked up from my long career of being a nerd.
I picked up practicing the piano again. It seems only right that I should pick up some musical skill when I’m in a touring rock band, but aside from that, playing music is immensely gratifying and adds to my understanding of artists’ works I admire.
Yesterday evening, I looked at a house that was for rent with my former housemate Brian. The plan is to find a place in North or Northeast Portland where he, Katie, Frank, and I can move back in together, which would be fine with me. I’m tired of my temporary place at my mom’s, and if we find a place together, rent would be very cheep.
I’m sorry if I am not going to be around so often for awhile. I think it’s important to get my life back together, before I’m out and about more again.
