we freeze the past in mercury

these are the moments that lapse in the glass. float to the bottom, scared to come up, to afraid to speak above the silence. shouts in the dark, ontop of the car, falling back with laughter at the reasons no one else will ever understand. a swan dive into a pool of bliss, gift wrapped, signed, sealed and delivered. its the coming of the inevitable, that turned out to be fanciful, and candle lit. high ceilings with no expectations. tears that fall with a smile under the curtain. birrage of questions that fall to the floor as glitter and are never meant to be answered with words.
the moments that hold hands together in the dark, eyes fearing the light. blue moons split sides of seeping infatuation. gliding across the parking lot, imagining a scene of ocean beauty that stretches across the highway and to the other side of the world where shutters are pulled back and another soul is searching internally.
casual is the dress, except the pearls wrapped tight to the neck give so much away. glass beads, perfumed paper and stamps that collide under the drawer, pushing the past to the memory of the present. bubbles that slip down porcelain, hair pulled back carelessly, cares wash down the drain. a glass of burgandy that waits with condensation forming on bulging lips. the song that sings you softly to sleep, then wakes you before dawn. you meet dawn with a chin tilted high, a smile present in the eye.
something made just for one, that eases its way into two. breaking crystaline hearts, mending hands that punctuate every word slicing silence in a coma spell.
never mind it all now. sleep beside the lamp of fire flies, watch the ease of wings into your perfect world, this was made for you.
