a short story to vamp the surroundings

She walked outside the room and stood alone against a wall. the lighter shook in her hand and it took her a minute to realize she did not smoke. the clapse on the bracelette broke again and the diamonds slid to the floor.pushing back the hair that hung in her eyes she dropped to her knees to retrieve the small stones.
-don't be so coy-the black hat pushed at her work with the toe of his wingtip shoe.
-leave me alone-the tears pushed past clinched teeth.
-what do you want now? another reason to leave?-he smiled as she stood-Ha! i would love to see it!
her hand flew forward, he caught her at the wrist and spun the frail arm behind her back. the cigerette fell to the floor, silent terror flushed her eyes.
pushing her against the wall he tore at the diamonds held in her hand. she trembled violently and bit her tongue. blood filled her mouth keeping her from screaming for help.
-stop this, stop it!- a new figure took a step out of the shadows.
-this does not concern you.
the stranger looked from the girl to the man in the black hat. pushing his self between the two, his smile widened.
-chance be it, i think it this holds all my concern.
the black hat frowned, and released the girl. shoving into the new figure a sneer on his face.
-are you ok?-the new figure held her chin in his hand, a gentle touch on porcelain skin.
she shook and nodded her head "yes"
-it always is like that-she smiled and dabbed at the blood with his hankerchief
-it should never be that way-his smile touched her.
the two walked out onto the lamp lit street. a taxie passed, they waved it on.
