(no subject)
First off, back from Michigan. Grandma's funeral was quite nice, as funerals go. It was really a treat to see a lot of family, although the Aunt Kay drama was almost too much. But probably the most surreal moment was taking that shot of tequila with my dad, and then fist bumping. Totally nuts.
Thanks again to everyone for their thoughts and prayers.
But now, I have returned to Philly. Here are the highlights:
1. I saw "Watchmen" at midnight on Thursday night with Ashley. It should be noted that we were the only two females in the entire theatre to be unaccompanied by males. I am NOT kidding. It was a nerd herd, for sure. But I thought the movie was pretty good. Jackie Earle Haley ROCKED as Rorschach.
2. Went running on Saturday and Sunday, IN SHORTS, and now have shin splints because I fail at running. But my legs feel better today, so maybe I'll be back at it tomorrow.
3. Cleaned my closet and got rid of a bunch of shit. It felt good.
4. Became officially OBSESSED with Draco/Hermione fanfiction. Like seriously, it's a problem. So now, I have decided to write my own. First chapter is done with the second on the way. I'll post the link when I post it later tonight.
5. Timaree and I got our proposal accepted to present at the alternative sexuality conference on May 21st in Chicago! We are pretty excited about it. Alexa, Jen, I'm coming to visit!!
6. I have become amazing at avoiding homework. There is a practice comps question that needs attending to, but instead I sit here acting like it doesn't exist. Whoops.
7. Got the fifth "House of Night" novel today and am pumped to begin reading.
So overall, I think things are looking up.
