Old Lady Post: Niente Dire
Today at a shareholder's meeting, Andrea Agnelli announced that this would be Alessandro Del Piero's last season at Juventus.
I have always heard it said that Del Piero decides when Del Piero leaves Juventus. So much for that. Andrea Agnelli's Juventus is first and foremost a business run for the benefit of the shareholders. Fuck the fans and fuck ADP too. Don't even give him a chance to make a graceful announcement.
I'm stunned and can't decide whether to cry or throw up.
UPDATE: People who think they are in the know are sure that ADP must have known Agnelli was making the announcement because it just couldn't be true that it's all a surprise. Knew he was leaving? I'll buy that. Knew Agnelli was going to tell the world now? I'm not so sure. This is how you tell the world that Simone Loria is finished. Decorum requires something better for Alessa.
ADP himself has not said anything publicly about any of this.
