If This is Friday, Inter Must Have a New Coach

(Silver fox swag. Don't mess. Please.)
As happens every six months these days, Inter today hired themselves a new gaffer. Hurrah? Though he's not officially there yet, Leo's headed back to PSG to hang with Giuly and be their DS (and, if you believe the press, to take everyone at Inter and in England besides with him), so Moratti had to find someone else to take charge of his hot mess of a club. With everyone from Marcelo Bielsa to Sinisa to Laurent Blanc to Zenga rumored to be seconds away from a seat on the bench, the rumors were way more exciting and/or nostalgic than the dude who finally turned up: Welcome, Gian Piero Gasperini!

Gasperini had some really great years at Genoa, playing lovely attacking football with an appealing mix of young and experience players (many of whom had their roots in Juve's youth system, where he also got his start) and a small budget, before things went south last season and he was sacked. He's generally considered to be very smart and occasionally sarcastic (♥), and he knows Diego, Sex Machine, and Frog well from their days at Genoa. Inter will only be the second Serie A team of which he's taken charge; hopefully he's ready, and hopefully Moratti won't toss him out when the team take more than a week to adjust to a totally new system.
