I know, Mauricio. I know.
Hello! First of all, let me say a big thank you to
milan_love for letting me help her with Palermo picspams! From now on, we'll be sharing, and we will help each other, so if she happens to be too busy to post here I'll do it, and the other way round, obviously.
That said, yesterday's match was really frustrating to watch. It's (almost) okay when yours is the only team playing on the pitch and they draw, but it really is very sad and a little upsetting when yours is the only team playing on the pitch and they lose. Watching the match one could have thought Palermo would just score at least one goal, cos
as you can see Lazio just moved forward twice, but it didn't happen. Plus, Palermo really needs points now, not only because they would take Zampa away from poor Delio's shoulder, but mostly because, well, there's a Campionato going on and the team can do so much better than this.
Palermo 0 - 1 Lazio26' Dias
PALERMO: S. Sirigu, M. Cassani, E. Munoz, C. Bovo, F. Balzaretti, G. Migliaccio, A. Bacinovic, A. Nocerino, J. Pastore, J. Ilicic (1' st A. Hernandez, 13' st M. Maccarone), M. Pinilla Ferrera
LAZIO: N. Muslera, S. Lichsteiner, G. Biava, A. Dias, S. Radu, C. Brocchi, C. Ledesma, M. Zarate (39' st A. Gonzales), A. Hernanes (32' st G. Stendardo), S. Mauri (47' st L. Scaloni), S. Floccari
Given that we've got no Sirigu photos cos he was forced to do his job just once on a FK by Zarate, let's start with Captain!Cassani.
He was very, very frustrated, especially since he tried so much and was just about to score when Muslera stopped the ball probably using magic in the end of second half.
He did well, btw.
And he was apparently very happy to dance with Radu.
Poor Munoz didn't get love from photogs, though he almost scored in second hald. As the announcer on my streaming said, btw, he really is kind of weak compared to the rest of our backline. He does his job, mostly, but he's still inexperienced and, well, he's not Kjaer. *heavy sigh*
Bovo, on the contrary, did get some love.
You know, I don't really am used to dislike players playing for the teams I care for. But Bovo, oh God. The man is a fucking disgrace.
Just so you can have an idea, I'll tell you that Dias' goal came from a FK Munoz had to concede after Bovo himself ran onto Balza messing everything up and giving away the ball to Lazio.
Try to learn from your (countless) mistakes, Bovo.
Balza was quite fired up.
His hair was the usual mess.
I remember him doing pretty well, but then I'm very biased when it comes to him.
He took really bad when Lichtsteiner touched the ball with his hand and the referee judged it not intentional. Instead of acting aggro against the referee himself, he tried to kill Lichtsteiner, who seemed ready to jump at his throat whenever he wanted.
Luckily, Javi P was there to stop him.
Moving on to the midfield.
Say hi to Migliaccio!
And to Bacinovic.
Who, unlike his boyfriend ex Maribor teammate Ilicic, did pretty well, especially in first half.
Noce had some fun in the midfield too. Well, maybe he wasn't having so much fun here.
He did good too, and tried to score with a header that went out.
Delio wants to know where his boys are.
Javi P is still having some troubles being his usual awesome self.
In fact, he and his skinny legs are a little bit of a fail, recently.
I have to say I agree with my cousin (a man with whom I never agree, especially when it comes to football) when he says that when he's having a bad day he is kind of upsetting.
He tends to lose the ball a lot more than he should and his passes aren't sharp as they used to be. (His acrobacy are still very good, though.)
That said, it's obvious he's trying very much to be back asap, so it's pretty hard to hate on him.
Delio, they aren't listening to you, anyway.
We could hate on Ilicic, if we wanted to, since he didn't do anything. But it's pretty hard to hate him too, since he (and Javi) are the ones that scored most since Campionato began. You're forgiven, Ilicic, but try to play next time.
Since he and his wonderful shoes couldn't just come on the pitch and play, at the beginning of the second half Delio had an idea, and sent Abel in.
He shouldn't.
If you're wondering why there are not photos of him actually playing before getting hurt, that's because he didn't have the time to do anything.
He had to come out ten minutes after coming in. He seemed really hurt. :(
It' still unknown how long will it take to recover for him, but it seems like it's going to be pretty difficult to see him on the pitch on the next match.
Big Mac took his place immediately.
He tried and tried and he did pretty good, but he wasn't that effective.
Delio: *sweats and takes off his jacket*
Wanna know who was good?
Yeah, this man here.
He put so much effort in everything he did he was quite moving.
Not to mention one of Palermo's most dangerous men on the pitch.
Every ball he felt was useful in some way, he was on it. And I'm talking about a great number of balls.
Plus, he was constantly being fouled, and gained a lot of interesting FK.
He was always involved when it came to move forward.
And happened to be very good to look at even without the ball on his feet.
Next is a trip to Moscow on Thursday, to play against CSKA. Hoping the boys manage to take a hold of themselves, if they don't want Delio to be fired right away to lose.
Mods, tags for Bacinovic and Ilicic?
