Brazilian prez, Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva, was in town and was met by Italian PM Silvio Berlusconi (oh you know, the one who fanboyed Obama as being
"young, handsome and well-tanned"). Berlu, in true pimp fashion, brought with him his posse of Brazilian Milanisti in Dida, Kaka, Ronaldinho, Emerson and Pato:
Berlusconi told reporters that he wanted to "surprise" the Brazilian leader by arranging for the players to attend a joint news conference. Suited up in jacket and ties instead of Milan's black-and-red uniforms, the players also posed with the leaders for photos at Villa Madama, the Italian government hilltop palazzo where Berlusconi and Silva had lunch. Hey now.
Maldini Wins Facchetti Award:
Milan legend Paolo Maldini has won the Facchetti Award, for his fairness and ability to be an example to others on the playing field.
Paolo's proud papa, Cesare Maldini
I love that Maldini isn't the least bit creeped out by MassMo.

According to Facchetti’s son Gianfelice, who presented the award on the night, “Maldini is a fair player on the field and has always been an example to others.”
Maldini received the Facchetti Award and a check of €10,000 to be devoted to charity by Inter president Massimo Moratti and Gianfelice, who was one of three sons of Giacinto present at the ceremony. [
