Well, Tagliani is actually a fullback who had to fill in for Gentili because of his suspension (red card). I think he did brilliantly in an unfamiliar role in the game against Hungary. As far as the game against Germany goes, I could also conclude from that that Forestieri, Poli, Paloschi *goes on to list 3/4 of team w/ exception of Fiorillo* are crap too. Something went drastically wrong in the final and I think it had everything to do with inexperience and wasn't a true gauge of the potential of most of our boys. Darmian and Bruscagin, on the other hand, never settled into their NATURAL roles. That's why I'm still willing to give Tagliani a chance.

Ahh, Tuia... Rocca continuing to snub him is one of the reasons that I'm ready to declare war on the whole youth setup. He hasn't yet featured for Lazio's senior team, but it's only a matter of time (unless he's been loaned out and I didn't get the memo). I'm willing to stake my reputation as a reasonably knowledgeable poster on Tuia being the Azzurrini defensive genius. Like I've said before, I've watched him in person for Lazio's primavera and he stood out by a mile even then. And recently the now retired Roma scout that discovered Francesco Totti has called Tuia the closest thing to Nesta that he has yet seen. *squeal*

And in case you're wondering, I DO have a massive crush on him even though he's a couple of years younger than me. Looks like Paolo Maldini and has some measure of Paolo Maldini's skill? YES PLEASE.

i base my POV on 3 games ;) so i approve Forestieri & Poli (Paloschi, on the other hand, had a poor tourney)

you're right about Tagliani played in unfamiliar role. but wasn't Gentili supposed to be a fullback also? look how he effortlessly fit in there. but again, Tagliani might be a different kind of fullback. Darmian was bad but Bruscagin was simply atrocious. i hope Rocca wakes the fuck up and call different players (and it seems he did actually. Rocca snubs Bruscagin and calls Inter's Andrea Mei & Santon. was this Santon kid good? he's only 17!)

Can't Lazio let Tuia kid go on loan if they don't intend to use him? My Parma would welcome him with open arms hahaha. srsly, i wanna see how good he is after reading you hyping him like this. BRING HIM ON!!!

(it's ok. i would pretend i didn't know about you having a crush on Tuia to maintain you unbiased opinion ROFFLES XD)

Geez, I keep forgetting about all our defenders moonlighting as fullbacks! My apologies.

You're right about Gentili being a different breed of lateral defender. He's a pure defensive fullback and not a wingback so that gives him the defensive skills to fit pretty much anywhere along the backline (I actually think he's kind of a liability at fullback because he probably needs to have a winger in front of him to provide width for the team lest the attack become dangerously unbalanced). So while I applaud his performances (and knock him about the head several times because of his penchant for red cards :/), it was far easier for him to transition into centerback than it was for Tagliani, who in all honesty is pretty much a wingback. Like Paolo De Ceglie but a bit better defensively. I give him major props for having the tactical discipline and versatility to do exceedingly well in a role that is not quite congruent with his skill set. Tagliani and Gentili get a thumbs up from me... FOR NOW. *this is my threat to the babies*

I'm pretty sure Lazio intend to use Tuia, if not extensively. The word in Roma (via Romanisti... AKA my cousins) is that Tuia might end up skipping a loan period altogether. The boy is THAT good, and Real Madrid have already inquired about him. I'm pretty sure that there were a couple of other foreign sides as well that made offers. The next 4 or 5 years are a particularly crucial period for him, because he's approaching the age where youngsters in general are proven to be superstars or enormous failures. I strongly believe that Tuia will be of the former set, but one can truly never know. So try to catch a few Lazio games, okay? We might see him one of these days and you can judge for yourself sans my highly biased commentary.

Although, in my defense, I'm such a nut about calcio that I only really developed a crush on him when I figured out how brilliant a defender he was. So as far as you and this community are concerned, I'm in love with him for all the right reasons ;)

P.S. I've been told before that I have very strange sense of how good looking certain men/footballers are. Perhaps Tuia's potential is what's making me think that he's so attractive? What do you think?

see. I never seen any of U-19 playing, aside from limited exposure to Paloschi & Forestieri, so I don't know the how they flair in their natural positions. But I like Gentili a lot and i'll keep track of his progress, tho it'd be mission impossible cuz he's now in C2 *stabs Atlanta sport director*

I really want to see how Tuia performs with the big boys. I think I need to pay attention to Lazio's game lineup naow :P especially coppa games. (And I hope LDS stays away from Tuia. I mean, they'll be totally hot together but we don't need another Prima Donna, kay?)

I mean, everyone loves pretty footie but the crush will to go far if they suck LOL tho I think I have my certain taste but personality & slashtastic factor can more than compensate the look XD (see Deseena. He's cute but not like cute-cute. but man, when he sluts it out on the pitch, what's not to love ♥)

As for Tuia, i saw only 2 pics of him so it's too early for me to judge how hot the boy is :P but i agree that amazing performance will offset any cosmetic performance. I cassano scored a hattrick in WC final, for example, he will become the most cuddlin' creature EVAAAAAA (ok, that's an overstatement but i hope you get my point)
