Credit Card Scam
So I'm gonna warn ya'll on a few credit card scams. these people had tried to get me and yeah...... its annoying.
the first one is some group that tells you that you've been entered into this contest to win a jeep or go on a vacation to hawaii. and not only that, you get a free diamond watch and like, 3 subscriptions to any magazine you want.
the catch? to get the magazines you gotta pay 3 or so dollars for the shipping or something. and how do that want you to pay? by giving them your credit card number.
I don't have a credit card. but if the number 866-816-9138 calls you- yeah, its them. oh! they also say they're from Las Vegas. which i know isn't true b/c my mom lives in Vegas and its area code is 702.
the second one is a company called P.C.ONE calls you to say that the recieved some application for you to get a master card and it has no interest, no annual fees for so many years. sounds great yeah?
well here's the catch to get the no interest you gotta pay a "secerity fee" or something like that for one payment of $369. yeah. and they want you to give them your account number and transfer number (transit number?) and then tell you that when they take the money out it''ll show up on the statement and that number thats on the statement is the password for something. yeah.
when they call it says the number is "withheld" but they give you the business number later on and its also an 866 number. and they say they are from Florida. also they're business hours are mon.-fri. 9-5. est. ...... they called me on a saturday.
oh! I think the 866 area code is a canadian one. but i could be wrong.
