Hey! Livejournal still exists!
I ought to unpack, but I'd rather recap. New house! Strange being on the wrong floor, and I do miss my attic, but as compromise is the heart of relationships, supposedly, I suppose an old house with a new floor will do, as the company is more than worth it. And the yard! The yard! It's beautiful. It's a forest. It's a hollow, a rabbit's home, a nature sanctuary, a sunny, hammock-in-a-comic-book, dandelion haven, cheerful reminder of why I'm here.
New friends in the kitchen are less fun. Tiny black friends with too many legs, although if you catch them and watch them in a transparent container, they clean their pincers like kittens and scratch their ears like dogs. If they have ears. Do they have ears? I relocated a princess and her 40 closest friends this morning, and cried for the ones who didn't make it. I carelessly remarked in the midst of my 30th trip outside that I sometimes wished I could just kill things as it would be easier, and my ever thoughtful lover took it to heart and did it for me while I was out. Rest in peace, little friends. Well, unwanted acquaintances. Still.
You know what's better? A delicious afternoon! I invented half of a crackling Magneto, coloured the witching hour, and wrapped little bars of pure magic. And that was after the hour and some conversation about art and life and, in fact, conversation, which was held over tea. I love my job. Though I can't wait to only have three of them. Four jobs is way too exhausting. One more week!
