Totally pointless (and late), but breathlessly enthusiastic reaction post to Doctor Who, "Midnight"
I don't know if mentioning one actor counts as a spoiler, but here's a cut just in case:
All I want to say is that Lesley Sharp is so fucking fierce and brilliant I could eat her up with a spoon. Or even a spork. I want to be her - and hell, looks-wise I practically am. By TV Rules, she's old and visibly wrinkled and has a terrible nose and is not beautiful or skinny but she's just so fucking AWESOME AND UNDENIABLE nobody can stop casting her. And that is How It Should Be. :) She even gets to be a leading lady, (cinematically) snogged and loved and worshiped by Christopher Eccleston no matter her age or her looks, that's how awesome she is. (And dear God, the acting showdown between them is brilliant in that film.) She makes me want to run out and build her a shrine and then go act in something immediately so that I can be one-tenth as awesome as her. For I am feeling the need to be awesome these days, and the lack thereof.
