I promise to blog properly at some point. Really, I do. But for now, I need some help from the large hive-mind known as my Flist.
I'm introducing a character in this script who's described thusly:A very small, nebbishy, clueless and relentlessly upbeat kid. He's the kind of person who is incapable of realizing people want to avoid him. He fancies himself a superhero, and runs around in a tacky homemade superhero suit. He drives our main superhero kid nuts because he thinks the two of them are in the same line of work, and they're SO not -- nerdy kid is clumsy, super-power-free and screws up anything he tries. He bugs the hero by wanting to swap “war stories” and wheedle some superheroing tips.
I'm having trouble imagining a voice for him, and when that happens what I usually do is mentally cast the role with a real-life actor. However, today, I'm having trouble coming up with one.
The only people I can think of are David Hyde Pierce or Woody Allen, and neither of them are right. So...what actor does this description call up for you?
ETA: Would that be like the kid from Napoleon Dynamite? I never did see that movie...
