Well, I'm TiVoing the premiere of "The Unit" in the background, because my boyfriend Robert Patrick is in it.
I'm just kind of half-listening to it, but so far? If you're in the market for incredibly wooden dialogue and acting (not everyone, but most), sledgehammered Red State values and man-boob military jerk-off fantasies, this is your show.
It was almost like some special interest group contacted them going "Those commie liberals got all the shows! We ain't had a good, family-values, kill-them-furreners show since 'Walker, Texas Ranger'! When's our turn?" And Hollywood went "We'd better keep those frothing conservative types happy, hadn't we? They've got all the guns." And so they concocted this show where the terrorists really ARE at our door and all the boys can pop woodies watching macho men bark all the right military phrases and use extreme predjudice justifiably and all the wimmenfolk can watch other wimmenfolk sittin' home worryin' 'bout their menfolk and that oughta shut 'em up for a while.
*sigh* Oh well. The wait for a good RP vehicle continues.
