Character Name: Hikari Hoshi. (Written in Eastern order, last name, first.)
Source Canon: Kamen Rider Vita. (Original Series based on the Kamen Rider series.)
Community Tag: hikari hoshi or hoshi hikari works.
Notes: I've decided to go with my own take on the Rider world and designed a Rider of my own.
In addition, if others would like to apply to this series, I have designed other drivers for their characters to use.
Background: Let's start off with some world building for Kamen Rider Vita to set the pace.
During the Second Impact, the Earth had been covered in radiation, ruin - the whole nine yards. As humans tried to cope with the disaster, a small bunch of them decided that instead of just wallowing around, they would try to rebuild into a better resistance and that would be fitting them with cybernetics to be resistant to what would come. Unfortunately, that would spell certain disaster as they became more and more obsessed with self-improvement and builded upon themselves more and more to the point of being unidentifed as humans anymore. The more the group fed into their greed, their hopelessness, and their despair, the more they mutated into the species known as the Gnocem. The source of their power fed on the hopes and dreams, or what remained of them, and fed into their hate and agony so much that the more they did so, the more powerful they in turn would become. The Gnocem decided that they needed to add more to their numbers, and so, sought out to corrupt the humans who were left by breaking down their mentality and showing them grotesque and disturbing images, essentially breaking down their psyche until there is nothing left to them but endless despair and hopelessness - something that the Gnocem deeply desired. And, so, they definitely became a force to be reckoned with.
As soon as this problem became noticeable by the local police forces, a specialized group was formed based on their intelligence as well as their brawn so as to combat the Gnocem and make life habitable for the remaining humans who weren't affected by the Getter Rays. The name of this association was the GAP, short for the Global Alliance Protection. They actively hunted down the Gnocem and eradicated them as soon as they cropped up. While the efforts they gave were, of course, noble in nature, they were soon overwhelmed by the sheer number of Gnocem that kept multiplying by hunting down humans themselves, and thus, turning them to their side. Yet, so as to protect the citizens, the GAP did not give up and promised to the citizens of Fuso that they would keep on combating the forces necessary. And, as such, this began the search for other uses and measures to continue fighting the Gnocem. Newstations quickly went abuzz with rumors as to what would help the cause, and as such, the rumor mill quickly escalated into everything from a supernatural force to divine powers from God himself.
The people of Fuso wanted something stronger to combat the Gnocem so that they could lead happy, normal lives without the threat of being turned into a Gnocem looming over their heads. For those who still thought this way, their combined hopes, dreams, passions - everything positive began to form into something incredible. They wanted a paragon of justice, a savior of people and this would lead into the birth of a new superhero. The name bestowed upon the superhero would be Vita for the lives of the people, and their aspirations formed the Vitadriver and gave it the power necessary to combat the Gnocem. As quickly as it was formed, the Vitadriver sought for a rightful owner to wield its' magnificent power.
That's where our hero comes in and she's ready to take the reigns to protect the lives of Fuso and those who need hope in their lives!
Our protagonist, Hoshi was born to a loving family with a businesswoman for a mother and a salaryman for a father, with two siblings soon to join the Hikari family. Fate would have it that Hoshi would be the supposed "problem child" of the family due to a rare birth defect that she had. It would later be known as dextrocardia situs inversus totalis, which resulted in her internal organs' positions being completely in reverse from where they were supposed to. Though, Hoshi strived to not be the source of her family's worries since they needed to worry more about themselves and their own worries more than with her, or so she thought. And thus, Hoshi wished to contribute as much as she could to assist her parents with what they needed to get done as well as make sure that her siblings had what they needed and that they were given as much equal attention as she was. Every member in the Hikari family did their part to make the family into a working unit with everyone happy and the bond between them became nearly unbreakable.
As soon as Hoshi was enrolled in school, she decided to busy herself with different sports programs throughout her school career so as to be an inspiration to others and so that she didn't have to be held back by her condition. This made her one of the popular kids for her cheerfulness as well as her sheer determination to be like one of the normal kids and the rest was history. Throughout school, she decided that she wanted to make people happy by serving them delicious meals, which was surprising to a few people since they thought she'd easily excel in athletics, but after that, the rest was history as she found her calling. She found her place in college and still did athletics on the side so as to keep being an inspiration to others around the country and the world itself.
However, Hoshi couldn't help but think that another chapter of her life was opening up while she was in college. And just as this anticipation went through her veins, the Vitadriver sought for someone worthy to wield its' power, and the honorary title of Kamen Rider to boot. And, it might be sooner than we think!
Personality: It should come as no surprise that Hoshi is a rather dedicated and warm individual who has plenty of her own goals that she wishes to see through to the end. She is also quite the cheerful one, always willing to offer some sort of advice to someone or just try to cheer them up in the end if they need it. Since she's been dealt with a somewhat unfortunate hand in life, she tries to not complain about her condition since she knows that other people have it worse off than her. Instead, she uses her condition to strengthen herself so that she can be the best she can be, as well as an inspiration to others who think that they can't do what they want just because they have a limitation placed upon them. With this in mind, she keeps the faith that she can be strong, powerful and not afraid to just be herself.
Though, there's quite a lot more to the young woman known as Hoshi Hikari. Due to dealing with two younger siblings (or as she affectionately calls them brats), she has experience with taking care of other people as well as offering advice when it's needed to others. This easily makes her fall into the big sister role to her family, as well as with others who need that source of guidance in their lives. She also tries her best to follow what she says as far as advice is concerned so that she's not seen as a hypocrite. Though, at times when she's tired of always being the strong and mature one, she reverts to a childish phase where she tends to pout and whine about things that are stressing her out, things that she doesn't want to do - amongst other such deeds. Usually some kind words of advice or a hug would help with getting her out of this phase and she perks right back up.
To continue on with the less than favorable side of her, when she gets sad, down, or stressed, she falls hard. This sort of behavior would continue when she sees a friend getting hurt and she can't do anything about it or when she feels that she's failed. Another facet is that she tends to hold a lot in and doesn't let herself express emotions, especially when she thinks that it's worthless or futile. This is when she's stubborn and willing to make more mistakes than usual since she's the kind to wear her heart on her sleeve. With that said, when her emotions are running high, she also doesn't think as clear as she usually would. One would have to get her out of this by either giving her tough love or slapping her (whatever will work) and she'll perk right back up again after picking herself up and dusting herself off.
Another side of her is that she refuses to give up easily. In addition to this, if she's faced with a difficult challenge that seems impossible, Hoshi will see through it to the bitter end so that she knows the result is one that she's personally proud of and that she hasn't left any stone unturned. This could be viewed as her stubbornness yet again cropping up or her being childish or stubborn - or sometimes a mixture of the three. Needless to say, she would much rather prefer to leave something she's proud of behind and deal with the circumstances of her actions than leave a situation with a less than desired result to linger.
Yet, that's not all there is to her. At times, she's more likely in someone's face going, "Hi! Let me be your friend forever and ever!" at any present moment. With that in mind, she can be annoyingly peppy and energetic, especially when faced with something that's new and interesting. Learning new techniques of how to keep a kitchen running at all cylinders? Let her know about that and more! You have something that you think would benefit her? Please teach her! She loves to get to know other people's hobbies and talents and would totally not mind trying it out just once for the hell of it. She sees new things to work on as a challenge and wants to keep on working on things so that she can be the best person she can be and leave nothing she'll regret behind.
Capabilities and Resources: Beyond being a Rider, Hoshi has a few capabilities of her own. She's in college right now and studying to be both a businesswoman and a chef so that she can finally open her own restaurants around the world. That means that she can make some pretty mean dishes rather quickly and still make them taste delicious.
She's also rather athletic due to the condition she has, and also because she doesn't want to fall behind when it comes to her friends. Even with her condition, she still strives to be the best she can be with no regrets.
Robot Name: Seeing Hoshi lacks a robot, she's able to transform into Kamen Rider Vita.
Rider Powers: When Hoshi transforms using her Vitadriver, she assumes the form of Kamen Rider Vita. The more she fights as Kamen Rider Vita, the stronger the Vitadriver will get.
Vitadriver: It has a slot to hold in the tarot cards with a star background on them and whenever Hoshi needs to change forms, she takes a card out of the slot and scans it in the middle, which will utter "THE TOWER" or "THE JUDGMENT", so on and so forth. If she needs to change forms, then all Hoshi would need to do is scan a card and she changes along with it. Along with her transformation, Vita's cape becomes a secondary shield to protect her from lasting damage and is sentient.
Her attacks are as followed.
Infernal Dance: This attack utilizes The Tower card as Vita becomes surrounded in flames, including her sword and she aims a mighty blast at her foe.
Lunar Blitz: With the use of The Moon, a full moon comes out as Vita performs an old fashioned Rider Kick while her leg is surrounded by flames. As such, her insignia is a phoenix and a phoenix's cry comes forward as Vita lands a devastating blast on her enemy.
Courageous Blast: As The Strength card is scanned, Vita finds herself imbued with a sharp increase of strength. With the use of a Rider Punch, Vita's hand is surrounded in fire as she strikes her enemy down.
To purify the Gnocem and revert them to who they were before, Vita uses The Judgment card in order to do so. She can only do this when the Gnocem are weak or in need of being helped. As Vita gets stronger, she can use The Justice card for purifying her stronger enemies.
The motif for Vita follows with the Major Arcana in Tarot cards, as well as fire. The default form for Vita is The Star card with Chariot serving as both strength and protection, which sharply raises defense, High Priestess for a sharp increase in attack and strength with Empress being used purely for the finishing blow.

Upgrades:
Chariot Vita
This is Vita's first power up. Hoshi scans The Chariot card in her Vitadriver, which a form change happens and she's granted more durable and tougher armor, as well as a more powerful sword. Her defense is heightened, however her agility suffers for the power up.

High Priestess Vita
Like Chariot, this is Vita's second power up. When Hoshi scans The High Priestess card, she's granted another form change, however this form is much sleeker in design, which heightens her attack strength, speed, and maximizes how high she can jump. For this, her defense is lowered, but not as much as it would be with Chariot.

Empress Vita
Vita's last and final power up done with The Empress card. At this level, Vita can land critical attacks and maintain a high level of defense with ease. This form has no limit to how many times it can be used, yet it is taxing on its' user due to how strong the form itself is. The more practice Vita has with Empress, the better she'll be at utilizing all of its' skills.

Job: Just a passing-through Kamen Rider! ...okay, lame joke aside, she'll be a Big Sister/Combatant, as well as one of the ship's chefs.
Suggested Event List: If it's needed, I'll edit any of the missions/logs as they come up. Note that these are not set in stone and I'll be editing them as they go along with the game.
[MISSION] Come Out, Kamen Rider Vita!
When the Chalice crew arrive at Fuso, the entire area is swarmed with creatures known only as the Gnocem with people trying to fend off against them. Hoshi is among the crowd, defending her friends with a steel pipe from the monsters. The struggle continues and Hoshi finds the Vitadriver, transforming into Kamen Rider Vita for the first time and the Gnocem that she defeats are purified and turned into what they were before: humans who were obsessed with self-improvement.
At this point, Hoshi has lost her family to the Gnocem and hasn't been able to find them, so she decides to take up the reigns as Vita to find them and bring them home safe. It's here she'll be joining the crew in order to have some help with this.
ENEMY: Gnocem.
[LOG] Connecting the Pieces.
After the first fight with the Gnocem, Hoshi decides to meet up with the other Riders on the Chalice to discuss what it's like to be a Rider firsthand, as well as get used to the Chalice as a whole.
[MISSION] Gnocem Strike!
Now that Hoshi has an understanding on what it means to be a Kamen Rider, she decides to take her duties seriously. Unfortunately, this is also a time when the Gnocem decide to strike again with more powerful mooks -- named Geo-Gnocem -- the which are harder to defeat and fight in general. In this mission, Hoshi receives her first power up -- Chariot Vita as well as a power up to the Vitadriver. This means that her normal form is stronger now, however she still has a long way to go.
ENEMY: Gnocem.
[LOG] Hoshi's Mother is a Gnocem!?
Just when Hoshi feels that her life's starting to get normal, she receives a chilling message that her mother is one of the Gnocem, but that's not all. She's one of the top generals and won't stop at nothing to claim the Vitadriver for herself. This causes Hoshi to seriously reconsider her option to stay on the Chalice because she wants to save her mother at all costs.
ENEMY: Hoshi's mother - General Sanguinis.
[MISSION] Overcoming Odds.
After Hoshi decides that going home would only hinder her new mission to help her mother, she decides to stay and bide her time by getting stronger and more resilient. However, it seems that the Gnocem and Geo-Gnocem seek to destroy her now that she knows what they've been keeping under wraps. She makes the statement that she won't stop at any costs to help them out and this statement is enough to grant her her second power up with The High Priestess. As Vita transforms into it, the Gnocem and Geo-Gnocem are defeated and returned as humans.
ENEMY: Geo-Gnocem, Gnocem.
[MISSION/LOG] Movie War 2010.
When Tsukasa is killing Riders left and right in his Fury Form, Hoshi is one of the many Riders trying to oppose him in his wake. She already fought him before and escaped before she was turned into one of the many cards Tsukasa has in his possession. While she's trying to recover, she's trying to think of a way to stop Tsukasa and comes upon the realization: he has to be killed. So, even in the state she's in, she goes back to fight him and put a stop to this once and for all. A fight breaks out in between them and she manages to pierce through the Decadriver, essentially ending this strife. However, this ends with her being fatally wounded with a shot straight to the heart.
While Hoshi tries to comfort Tsukasa, she takes his cards as a way to remember the Riders he eliminated and promises she'll do it for him. Yet, when the pain and bloodloss become too much, she ends up passing out after the rush finally ends. At this point, the Vita and Final Form Ride: Vita card are fully restored.
When she gets medical attention, it turns out that her condition saved her from being killed. She's still weak and her Vitadriver has lost all the progress it has made so far, however she tries to get up from the hospital bed she's in and tries to get in touch with the other Riders in order to revive Tsukasa. It uses up all of her strength, however Tsukasa does come back fine and well. The Vitadriver has its' progress back during this too.
Depending on how recovered Hoshi is by this point, she'll be participating in the Shocker fight with the rest of the Riders in order to put a stop to their plans once and for all.
Note: I've received permission from Shaun in order to do this. It coincides with the Decade Movie War mission, so as to avoid any and all confusion.
ENEMY: Tsukasa Kadoya, Dai-Shocker.
[MISSION] It's My Turn Now.
Now that Hoshi is fully recovered, she knows that she has to save her family once and for all. So, in a bold move, she decides to beckon the Gnocem and Geo-Gnocem to come to her, and they take the bait. It's with this that she's launched into a battle against them and she faces her transformed mother for the first time and is at a sizable disadvantage while fighting her. However, she promises her that she will save her and make things right. She's told that she's a fool and suffers for it. Yet, due to her determination and strength, the The Empress card glows and Hoshi uses it to take on the form of her second power up. She makes quick work of all the Gnocem and Geo-Gnocem, however her mother is nowhere to be seen. Disheartened, but not going to give up, she makes a resolution to keep on fighting.
ENEMY: Geo-Gnocem, Gnocem, General Sanguinis.
[LOG] Asking For Help.
Still disheartened by the previous events, Hoshi decides to call in for the Riders and anyone else around to help her out with the Gnocem. All this would serve is for a meeting between the different forces who wish to help.
Note: Would require all Kamen Riders/Super Sentai for this in game.
[MISSION] Let's End This.
With the additional help requested, Hoshi sets forth into Gnocem territory with her forces in tow. Here, a fight would break out as it continues to get harder and tougher. At the end, the Gnocem manage to secure Hoshi and the Vitadriver as she's brought to face her mother with some harsh consequences: Join her side or perish. She decides to stay for the sake of her family and with a tearful farewell to the crew, she tells them to live on for themselves.
As Hoshi's prepared to become a Gnocem, the Kamen Riders/Sentai/rest of the crew who agreed to come to help her out can show their skills and wipe through the Gnocem easily. This would result in the Vitadriver being returned to its' rightful owner as well as bailing out Hoshi, and as she thanks them, she transforms into Vita and goes to vanquish the Gnocem once and for all with her friends helping her out. When Hoshi gets her family back, safe and secure, she decides to introduce them to the Chalice crew and thanks her friends for helping her out.
Ideally, this would be the end of Vita's canon, though she would participate on other missions as necessary.
Note: Again, this would require the Kamen Riders/Super Sentai who signed up to show up. Otherwise, it's pretty much a free for all.
ENEMY: Geo-Gnocem, Gnocem, General Sanguinis.
