"Protecting" the young

Singapore is really inexplicable. On the one hand, you want to protect the young from the alleged evils of R(21) shows in the heartlands; on the other hand you do not advocate contraceptive knowledge among teenagers- the latter which naturally result in this. Wonderful right, more and more teenagers are having unsafe sex. Seriously, just because you believe your law-abiding, god-fearing children will never have pre-marital sex (but don't be too sure, hokey?!), it does not mean that other people's kids will do the same and it is these other kids that will benefit from a strong message of both abstinence AND safe sex practices. But hey, that's OK because at least we've stopped them from watching sexy shows in Simei. I am not sure if parents are clueless or in a hallucinatory state of denial but any teenager can download a hard-core pornographic movie faster than you can say "the moral fabric of society".

What an inexplicable country Singapore is.
