poetry for your ears...

I remember
When those far away voices
Were oh so near
The yesterdays were today
And the todays were tomorrow

I remember
When the children were playing
They danced and they laughed
It was wonderful and painful
The horizon of that future could not be seen

I remember
When the little things became big
Nothing and everything mattered
The children, they are not so little now
Comprehension leads to apprehension

I remember
When the horizon loomed ahead
Life scattered everywhere
The battle scars emerged
And the voices slowly are drifting away

I remember
When the sun dawned over the horizon
Those voices of today faded into yesterday
Leaving the memories of life
Of the sun which faded away
