kailorien [01] Do you have the guts to answer these questions and re-post as The Controversial Survey?
Sure
[02] Would you do meth if it was legalized?
Absolutely not. That shit is bad news.
[03] Abortion: for or against it?
Against abortion, pro choice.
I personally wouldn't have one, and I think know that these days it has become a form of 'birth control'. I believe it's a little human and all that. But I also believe each woman has the right to make her own choices when it comes to body and reproduction (I am a doula. That's pretty much the definition right there.), and it's ridiculous for the government to attempt to control something like that. Or whom to love.
[04] Do you think the world would fail with a female president?
rant/- Well if you're referring to America as the world, then I'd say you needed to be taken out the back and 'talked' too as well. In case you hadn't noticed, theres these other great landmasses out there on this planet (which is called earth, not america btw) and they run just fine without the interference of America. -/rant
Ha ha ha, what
kailorien said! This is why the rest of the world sneers at us. Superiority complex has become the national conditioning. (*ahem* unfounded...have you seen our country lately?)
A woman like Sarah Palin? Undoubtedly. A woman in general? Grow the fuck up. It depends on the choice. Notice anything about our nation's “choices” lately. (Use the term loosely, given the election debacles.)
[05] Do you believe in the death penalty?
Yes, I'm fairly certain it's real.
Oh, did you mean do I support it? *glances at the guy who practically steam rolled over her mother and probably isn't even facing jail time* Now probably isn't a good time to ask me.
[06] Do you wish marijuana would be legalized already?
Yes. As opposed to meth, marijuana is a naturally occurring plant that doesn't eat you away from the inside out or turn you into a psychopathic danger. (Don't tell me I'm exaggerating, I've known both meth heads and pot heads). I think the government's controlling a plant is just as ridiculous as controlling our bodies or whose partner's love is valid enough to allow him/her in the hospital room when you're dying.
[07] Are you for or against premarital sex?
*glances at the five-year-old flower girl* I think sex is pretty fun, and nobody's business but yours and your partner's. Unless you invite more people. The government won't let you marry all of them, so what else can you do?
[08] Do you believe in God?
Yes, we're tight.
[09] Do you think same sex marriage should be legalized?
Of course. Whether it's morally right or wrong, it's not the government's job to say whose love deserves legal benefits. Judge not. If you don't want to have hot gay love, don't. Then shut the fuck up, because they're probably having more fun than you. (Not because of kinky stereotypes or anything, but because people who don't have hang ups about other people's sexuality usually please their partners better)
[10] Do you think it's wrong that so many Hispanics are illegally moving to the USA?
*looks at the squalor* Wouldn't you want to? The whole system needs a tweaking, and we need to actively recruit both skilled and unskilled laborers, and make learning English, paying taxes, and volunteer services mandatory.
If we didn't allow Hispanics into our country, I wouldn't be here. Let's make it legal, and make it beneficial for both sides. Even the illegal ones have become a vital part of our economy - at least here locally, where raids and massive deportations really shook things up concerning industrial work. Only problem is, most of them don't pay taxes and employers turn a blind eye. If all of them were being supported, included, and paying taxes for the privilege, we could maybe do some more quality education and housing programs for them AND the millions of working poor Americans, allowing them more opportunities for education while the immigrants work toward nationalism. Yay us!
[11] A twelve year old girl has a baby, should she keep it?
If she wants.
[12] Should the alcohol age be lowered to eighteen?
Why stagger legality? Especially with college-aged kids, where years of repression explode in the glorious wake of parental independence. Americans have a piss poor relationship with alcohol. Let's stop glorifying it and let grown ups do what they want. Hopefully they'll grow up quicker.
[13] Should the war in Iraq be called off?
BWA HA HA HAA HA HAA
Wait, you're serious? What the hell are we doing wasting millions of lives and dollars on somebody's “You made my Daddy look bad, I wanna steal yer oil and pretend my diddly's bigger” campaign? With the exception of domestic invasion, our country should not play war (especially just to take over someone else's country) until all OUR problems are fixed.
[14] Assisted suicide is illegal: do you agree?
I used to think it was wrong to take any life, that suicide is morally wrong and killing should be illegal no matter what. Then I met great suffering. I can make my own choices - and I'll never know what that would be until that's my suffering. If it's my life, who is someone else to say?
Of course then you have the whole can of worms with parents of kids with D.D., accident victims, etc. deciding that their kids are suffering and should be euthanized. I never would have thought that'd be an issue, but the case of that girl whose parents are giving her surgeries to keep her kid-size forever, because she's easier to care for that way.... Shoo. This is why I hate politics. Unless I can be benevolent dictator, let someone else sort out the specifics of those hot buttons.
[15] Do you believe in spanking your children?
Hell, I believe in you spanking my children if they're out of control.
[16] Would you burn an American flag for a million dollars?
Sure! It's a symbol, people. I burn symbols all the time in my ceremonies. Maybe it would be a nice, firey cleansing purge. Hm. I need a flag...
[17] Who do you think would make a better president? McCain or Obama?
Obama. I'm still not comprehending how this McCain/Palin thing is a viable ticket. Frankly, I wish people would start noticing Dennis Kucinich - at least so he can get close enough that I can actually vote for him once.
[18] Are you afraid others will judge you from reading some of your answers?
Consciously or not, we always judge others when we read their opinions. If you weren't at least somewhat interested, you wouldn't be here. I'm fairly mature when it comes to 'to each his own'. I won't cry if you disagree.
Although if you agree with everything, let me know. You're my new best friend!
