Lance slept for 10 hours last night!! That means that I probably got around 7 hours of sleep…I don’t think I have gotten that much sleep since before he was born. Then, when he woke up at 6am, he ate and then went back to sleep around 7 for maybe 30-5 minutes…and then Joel, who has most of the day off today, took him for another hour…so I got a ( Read more... )

he's such a butterball!

Guess what, I found a photo of Will from that same age (exactly - Aug 3, 2009):

He was 95%ile for weight but Lance looks even more buttery lol. Seems like a breastfed thing - butter up, slim down.

LOL I LOVE HIS POUT! He's very expressive, just like momma. Reminds me of the 'tragedy' in the comedy/tragedy masks.

What is the stew recipe? I tried it the other day based on vague memories and I totally messed up. Turns out I left out a lot of ingredients and added way too much water. It ended up being like onion soup with some meat and veggies floating in it. Not horrible, but not great...

Awww look at bitty baby William!!!! :)

Does it make me a bad mom that I am so entertained by my sons pouts and screaming fits? ;) he certainly has my flair for the dramatic. :) wait till you see him stick out his lip when he pouts!!!!

I have always done your moms stew from memory...but here is what I usually do:

Brown the stew meat in a pan. Add to crock pot
Peel and slice potatoes into chunks
Pour in a bag of baby carrots
Peel and slice an onion into chunks
Add 1 pack onion soup mix and about 1 1/2 to 2 cups of water, or water and red wine
Put crock pot on low and cook for 6-8 hours, adding in sliced mushrooms (I use baby portobellos) about 60-90 minutes before serving
Serve over rice

I have also started using sweet potatoes instead of baking potatoes and adding peas as well. :)
I'm sure i don't do it like your mom does either but that's what seems to work for me. :)
