Time to betray the enthusiasm of youth... it was a good little event. Very pleasant due to some very nice people there. The art was only saved by the light-hearted way it was presented.
As toys, the technological stuff is fun. New??? Not in at least 130 years. Since Picasso, young people have searched for ways to depict the world beyond representation of direct sensory impression. I take Picasso as a signpost because he unequivocably shows a transition from academic representational work to something else.
Everything I saw was a new version of stuff I saw in New York in the late '70s. And that was not significantly different from stuff I read about from the '50s.
Fun, yes. Advances in technology, yes. Advances in art, no.
Oh well. At least they were/are having fun.
