Today was awesome. I woke up fairly late, around noon. I went over to my computer to pack a bowl and Sousa was online. He IMed me and we got to talking. I suggested we take a hike in Harold Parker and smoke a few bowls. I met him at Christopher's and soon we were on our way. Nazzarro called us in the interim. He was stranded at work with no ride home, so we volunteered to drive him home.
We hadn't really planned on smoking with Nazz, but he said he'd reward our generosity with a bottomless bowlpack. Who were we to argue? He had injured his leg and was on crutches, so a hike in the woods was out. We did the usual cruise route and found ourselves surprisingly baked. Right down the street from Angelica's in Middleton, we came to a traffic site. We had been done smoking for about five minutes at this point, so the car was probably holding onto some pretty potent fumes.
We slowly rolled up to where a policeman was directing traffic. I was doing my best to pretend that I was interested in the flow of traffic that we were trying to get into. Then, the police officer starts walking towards with a very serious look about him. He approaches the passenger window where I'm sitting. He looks in and goes, "You boys get the gold star today!" I am just waiting for this cop to maul us six ways from Sunday. We were the biggest sitting ducks ever. We rolled up right under his nose...I bet we get the gold star for being the sketchiest carful of stoners he's seen this week...Nazz is kicking the back of my seat, like I wasn't aware of the awful situation we were in.
"You're the first car I've seen come through this detour right! Good job! Next time you get pulled over tell 'em you got a Get-Out-Of-Jail-Free Card!" He continued, walking away. I was so overcome with happiness, I bet I was grinning like an idiot, and I know I flashed him the okay sign at one point. We were able to drive on at this point, and we all just started screaming with laughter. None of us could believe what just went down. Great story...just thought I'd share it.
