[Giles is just coming out of the grocery store when he spots Okita. He notices absolutely nothing out of the ordinary, which is a very nice change from the last few days.]

Okita-san? How are you?

[He almost jumps a bit, but settles soon enough, looking over at Giles. He seems normal enough and...isn't mentioning anything so perhaps 'his' secret is safe right now.]

Hello, Giles-san. I'm much better now. How are you?

Trying to make sense of things. The village, regrettably, appears to have gone insane. And I think I might actually be a part of that.

[He holds up the plastic bag.] S-So I'm making another cake.

Gone-- Ah, yes. It seems to be time for another experiment or something. [La la la ignoring that he's part of it, too.]

And another cake? My! You're busy!

Yes, and I wish they would have the decency to just stick to one experiment this time round.

Oh? I don't know. It lends a little bit of fun variety to life, don't you think?

Once again, Okita-san, your optimism astounds me.

It's a start, isn't it? Maybe next time you can even manage, "It's morning out so there are no vampires, and what a lovely day it is."

The snow is fun, isn't it? I can't wait until enough of it stays so we can make snowmen.

You like snow, as well?

Some people are enjoying the weather more than I am. Emma certainly was - she made me dance while we both sang "Winter Wonderland". [The memory is...mildly amusing and mildly traumatizing.]

It can be fun, yes.

[And there's a name he doesn't recognize. Souji tilts his head slightly and looks at Giles.]

Emma...? Is that another of your new friends here?
