Plugging away...

I bought Will Terry's Perspective Folio class last week (still want his designing for pictures). All my high falutin' plans got interfered with by life, and though I'd ALSO planned on making up for it this past weekend, I was simply a slug. But funny thing happened on the way to naptime. Today, I have more ambition and a better sense of focus. Last week I figured out a couple of plot turns and tweaks for a couple of work-in-progress. I got rid of the pile of papers (keep them for reference, news and the puzzles. Clipped all relevant pieces, organized them into a neat pile in a folder and got rid of five bags of recycling; upshot head is clearer. Cleared a few DR. appointments a few more on the way. And I sit here for a little bit, playing stupid games, Twittering away with new friends, eating a better version of last night's dinner (apparently it not only works with work but with food as well, somethings just need to settle in). In about a half an hour I will ensconce myself in front of the television set with some prerecorded shows and the last few drawings of my Picture Book (I render by hand then color in PhotoShop). If I get those done, I will complete the portrait I started for a friend right before Christmas. If not then that will be tomorrow's project. Still dragging my butt a bit, but at least it's from chair to chair now. I think having a ballpark is great. Unfortunately until I show some signs of earning money from my projects, getting the space and support to complete them is out of the question (and in my case with head intensive work, no door and constant interruptions it's a necessary thing to be on a schedule). So having a timeline in mind is a great thing, but you have to also just let life happen to you. I think in the long run, that real imposition and not the arbitrary set is what positively informs our work. Happy creating!
