so then I play with the placement and try to figure the background. At this point it's STILL a mess andhard to see (except in me noggin). Color, rendering, light and shadow SHOULD, change all that. This is the point I start thinking of palette. Though I won't color it (or I might color A sample piece, for Rachel's approval-- I want to get the light and the colors right), it's so much easier and streamlined NOW rather than later. One of these days, I'll be able to figure/learn Photoshop and Illustrator, and a touch of a button. Til then, if I get it wrong, it's a bust and I got a numb hand, angry head and a lot of work ahead of me. In this case, there are lots of yellow and green and will have touches of red, sky blue and browns.(Honduras is very sunny and the clarity of light is bright but not the white of say Greece. I think this is due to not only the place-- tropical, but also cultural. Ambient character people! And for the record, thank goodness for the internet, visual aids and a heavy imagination, I've never been, but I want this to read as if it's "home" for the people who live there, instead of some gringo trying to sell the people a bill of goods). The people are a mix of a few races, with a healthy dose of Mestizo thrown in, and the clothes they wear are fairly conservative, even for the youngsters. I will do a better rendering, then either send as is, or ink it and tell Rachel of the colors I'm planning on using.
