Title: Epiphany
Character/Pairing: Kitty Pryde
Theme Set: Omega #1 Creature
'Verse: 616 Comicverse
Rating: G
Word Count: 517
At first, she had been frightened.
For someone who balked so quickly at prejudice, she was perhaps the most prejudiced within her own community, not sure how to deal with those with physical differences from humans.
It took her a while for her to become completely comfortable, but she remembered the true epiphany, the point where she understood it all. Kurt became her friend, perhaps her closest friend, yet he had one of the strangest physical deformities she'd ever seen. Blue skin, a tail, and even three fingers. He was, in the eyes of many people, a demon, deformed, even in the eyes of mutants.
Perhaps that's what she had thought as well, feeling too young to be in the situation she was, and needing guidance. She couldn't go to Logan for this, no, he'd just tell her to buck up and accept the situation. Deciding to go on a walk around the Mansion, just to let her fears dissipate and go away, she stopped by his open door. He was counting the rosary, and she found herself just watching, amazed for a moment at the blatant display of religion.
There weren't that many people who openly showed their religion in the mansion, almost as if it was a taboo subject. Perhaps the only person she had heard discuss their religious belief beyond Logan's moaning was Kurt. Eventually, he put the rosary down, saying a couple of Hail Marys before he noticed the girl standing at his doorway. He was Catholic; she was Jewish, but she could relate to his pious nature.
In his thick, German accent and slightly broken English, he asked, "You're that Katarine girl, right?"
She just nodded, ashamed at having watched him for so long without telling him. At his beckoning, she entered, crossing her ankles. He seemed kind, human, though, and she seemed able to relate to him.
She sat down, her heart beating hard, her necklace held tight in her hand. "I don't know who to talk to," she said, smiling softly. "And I saw you..."
He nodded, looking over at his rosary for a second then pointed to her hand. "Don't lose your faith," he said.
She found it an odd comment, from a Catholic to a Jew, and she stared at him in puzzlement.
"In either man or God."
She smiled softly. "No, I don't think I ever will."
She had left then, seeking out her own room to figure out what the man, certainly he was a man, had meant. Don't lose her faith in either man or God.
That wasn't the epiphany. It came years later, after tolerance had grown within her.
Lockheed was at the girl's side, and suddenly she mumbled the words.
"Don't lose faith in either man or God."
What's that supposed to mean? she heard as a gentle query.
She smiled. We're all God's children. No matter how we look or act. To lose my faith in man, would be to lose my faith in God. And to say that we're not all God's children would be to lose my faith in man.
Title: Taking the Guilt
Character/Pairing: Kitty Pryde
Theme Set: Omega #2 Need
'Verse: 616 Comicverse
Rating: G
Word Count: 123
"I'm sorry," Kitty said, sitting across from Pete Wisdom, her hair tucked back into a conservative ponytail, wearing a dress suit.
Pete just smiled, the ache overwhelming him, but he didn't want to show that to her. "It's not your fault," he assured her. "You couldn't expect that to happen."
"It is my fault," she said. "I should have known better."
He touched the side of her face, shaking his head. "You can't let everything be your fault, Kitty. At some point, you have to let someone else take the blame, too."
She looked him in the eye, shaking her head carefully. "No, Pete. It's my fault for needing the both of you, when it seems I can't ever have either for long."
Title: Fitting In
Character/Pairing: Kitty Pryde
Theme Set: Omega #3 Different
'Verse: 616 Comicverse
Rating: G
Word Count: 217
She had always seemed to fit in. Brown hair, brown eyes, almost average height. There was nothing different about her. Well, she did well in every subject in school and had started to get bored, learning the subjects well ahead of time.
But beyond that, there was nothing that set her apart. Slender figure, Caucasian, woman. Almost no one at school knew who she was, and if you tried to give a description of her, you could have been talking about almost anyone.
Deerfield, Illinois could have cared less that Kitty Pryde was suffering from crippling headaches. But many girls her age came down with headaches, and so nothing was thought of it, especially as she tried to keep the pain to herself as the headaches increased in intensity, duration, and frequency.
No, there was nothing different about Kitty Pryde. That was until Emma Frost entered the home, wanting to speak to her parents. Kitty went upstairs, taking a bottle of Advil with her, complaining about a headache. Lying down in bed, closing her eyes, all she wanted was for the pain to go away.
The pain went away. Kitty Pryde, however, had set herself apart, now laying on the living room floor, staring up at her bedroom ceiling.
There was something certainly different about the girl.
Title: Contact
Character/Pairing: Kitty Pryde
Theme Set: Omega #4 Hide
'Verse: 616 Comicverse
Rating: G
Word Count: 148
It was Colossus who found her.
She was tucked away in a broom closet that was normally locked, clutching her necklace, just staring ahead. She seemed surprised when the door was unlocked, and she saw the Professor and Colossus standing there.
She wasn't asked why she had holed herself up in the locked closet. Piotr just extended an arm to her and she gladly took it, wrapping her arms as far around him as she could, tears stinging in her eyes, sniffling slightly.
He stroked her hair, not telling her everything was going to be okay, just letting her have a moment of physical contact. Her necklace was gripped tight in her left hand, the silver star of David dangling below her shaking hand. She was shaking against him.
"Illyana's dead," she mumbled.
He just closed his eyes, pulling her closer, knowing no other way to comfort her.
Title: Left Behind
Character/Pairing: Kitty Pryde
Theme Set: Omega #5 Deliver
'Verse: 616 Comicverse
Rating: G
Word Count: 240
"You can't leave me," Kitty said, tears in her eyes. "I'll go with you to take... her home, so she can be buried with the rest of your family, but you can't... you can't leave me."
He sighed, stroking Kitty's hair, not sure how to explain his thoughts. "I'm just not sure this is the right place for me," he said. "Not the right environment. Especially... after..."
She nodded, obviously hurt. "So I guess, this is the end?" she asked, landing the jet plane on Russian soil. Colossus picked his sister's body up, swallowing hard.
"For now," he said, leaning forward to kiss her softly. She didn't return the kiss, just pulled back shyly.
They walked silently to the farm house, Kitty's heart sinking as they went. The Professor had told the Rasputins of their daughter's sickness, and later of her death, but delivering the body to the parents so it could be buried...
She didn't know what to say.
When Piotr knocked on the door, his mother opened it, her eyes full of tears, seeing Illyana's body in his arms.
"Maybe this is best if... if you stay here for now," Kitty said. "Have some time with your family."
Piotr nodded, embracing the shorter girl.
She turned back to the jet, getting that sinking feeling when you know you're leaving something behind you wanted to hold on to forever.
She just wasn't sure if it was Illyana or Piotr.
Title: Overgrowth
Character/Pairing: Kitty Pryde
Theme Set: Omega #6 Garden
'Verse: 616 Comicverse
Rating: G
Word Count: 146
"What did the doctors say?" Kitty asked, wheeling Pete out into the garden.
Pete breathed in deeply and smiled at her. "They said I'll be fine, eventually. I just need some time to recover."
She looked around, smiling. "English gardens are so beautiful..." she murmured."A lot like you, to tell you the truth."
Pete looked at her, knowing she wouldn't be sated until he asked. "How am I like an English garden?"
She just smiled. "On the outside you look wild and overgrown, but on the inside, anyone who knows you Pete..." She leaned in, kissing him gently. "You're really well planned and organized. Not actually wild."
He laughed, tugging on her collar for another kiss. "I'm not sure whether that's a compliment or not..."
She leaned her forehead against his. "What's more beautiful than being a rogue on the outside with calm on the inside?"
Title: Failing Expectations
Character/Pairing: Kitty Pryde
Theme Set: Omega #7 Deceit
'Verse: 616 Comicverse
Rating: R for sexual content
Word Count: 313
She had been alone for too long and had found many of her nights curled up with Jubilee, the erratic girl giving her comfort that no one else seemed to be able to. She didn't know what she was thinking, one night, when she nuzzled the girl's chin, kissing her softly, and she was even more surprised when the other girl kissed her back.
The relationship was private, just between the two of them; it was a chance for comfort and redemption, a chance to regain those things they had lost on an intangible scale.
It didn't take long for their relationship to go beyond cuddles and kisses, explorative Jubilee between Kitty's legs, her tongue pleasuring the girl, Kitty's hands fisted in the sheets, gritting her teeth, just wanting to be quiet enough not to let the sound go through the walls.
The touching brought something new out for both of them, perhaps it pacified them, perhaps it brought out a new nature entirely in them. Jubilee wasn't as spastic when she was around Kitty, and Kitty was a bit more open-minded. People commented on how good of friends they were and they always replied they were "family."
Logan probably knew what was going on, but he didn't say anything, thinking it was better for the girls to figure out what to do on their own.
Kitty craved the surprisingly gentle touches, slipping over her breasts, nips at her inner thighs, and always had to beg Jubilee for more. Then, Kitty came back, Colossus in her arms, and she gave one look to Jubilee.
It was almost an apologetic look, one of remorse.
She had found what she was looking for, while Jubilee was still lost. Clinging to the Russian, Piotr asked her, "What was that for?"
She looked down and just said, "Nothing."
She couldn't bring herself to look at Jubilee again.
Title: Awkward Silence
Character/Pairing: Kitty Pryde
Theme Set: Omega #8 Tremble
'Verse: 616 Comicverse
Rating: G
Word Count: 218
Being held close by steel arms, almost makes one wonder how much you can move, what the possibilities are. Can you hear a heartbeat? Can you sob, letting all your emotions out?
She was trembling in his arms, tilting her head up. "Piotr," she mumbled, his arms wrapped firmly around her. She gave up, sobbing on his shoulder, feeling his heartbeat against her chest. "Just don't let go. I can't have you disappear again."
He didn't say anything, just held her closer, though she was still trembling. Things were awkward. He didn't know what to say, just slowly let go of her. Breathing in deeply himself, he pulled back, tilting her chin up so he could see her face.
"Kitty," he murmured, knowing there was nothing he could have done, but still feeling guilt.
She looked at him, wiping away her eyes, her shakes going away. "I'm fine," she said, turning around, wrapping her arms around herself. They were quiet for a while, and then he leaned forward to touch her shoulder.
"Kit-" he started, but she interrupted him, saying, "Let's get you back to the X-men."
He just nodded, amazed that steel could shake, slowly letting his armor peel away, the man walking with the woman. Neither of them was sure how to deal with the situation.
Title: Ladies First
Character/Pairing: Kitty Pryde
Theme Set: Omega #9 Door
'Verse: 616 Comicverse
Rating: G
Word Count: 107
Everyone thought she was going to be hurt by Pete. He was a roguish character, and many couldn't see how someone gentle like Kitty could have fallen for him. It was a simple encounter.
She was walking to a restaurant; all the members of Excalibur eating out that night. She stopped, about to put her parcel down to open the door when Pete, grinning at her opened the door and said in his charming British accent, "Ladies first."
She looked up at him, a blushing lightly and entered the restaurant. She found that being treated like a lady, not a Comrade, was nice once in a while.
Title: Accents
Character/Pairing: Kitty Pryde
Theme Set: Omega #10 Teeth
'Verse: 616 Comicverse
Rating: R for sexual content
Word Count: 249
She groaned, Pete's teeth scraping across her throat. She looked up at him wantonly, tugging on his shirt. "Tease," she accused, as he straddled her, scraping his teeth at her collarbone, the hollow of her throat, her jaw.
"Since when have I been a tease?" he purred and she shook, the sound of his English accent arousing her more than it should, his fingers teasing at the hem of her pants. She wasn't sure when the shape before her blurred into Piotr, the larger man biting at her side, her shirt discarded at some point she couldn't imagine, his teeth running along the edge of her pert nipple.
She gasped, pulling Colossus close, grinding against him unbuttoning her own pants. "Eager are we?" he asked in his Russian accent and she nearly melted. Kissing him hard, slipping her tongue into his mouth, she felt teeth that seemed different, and the tongue was. She gasped, pulling back, seeing Kurt straddling her, the blue mutant slipping her pants off.
She groaned, and he asked her, "You sure you're okay with this?" The German accent was more than she could take, and she started begging, pulling him in for another kiss-
"You 'kay, Kitkat?" she heard in a Cajun accent. "Y'were moanin' in ya sleep."
Kitty blushed and looked over at Remy, trying to ignore his accent entirely. "I-ah... no, just don't talk."
He looked at her funny, but did as she said.
She, on the other hand, crossed her ankles.
Title: Loss
Character/Pairing: Kitty Pryde
Theme Set: Omega #11 Clarity
'Verse: 616 Comicverse
Rating: G
Word Count: 105
She sat in the Blackbird, looking down at the ground, the jar of ashes in her trembling hands. When they landed on the Siberian soil she shivered, looking around, wondering how his family had taken this? They lost Illyana and now Piotr.
Throwing the ashes each direction of the wind-
She breathed deeply, sitting on her bed, the memory terribly clear. Colossus, dead in her arms, Pete in a wheelchair, her first kill-
That's when she started packing, the acceptance letter shaking in her hands. There was nothing clearer to her than the fact that she needed to get out now, before she lost everything.
Title: Ignorance
Character/Pairing: Kitty Pryde
Theme Set: Omega #12 Water
'Verse: 616 Comicverse
Rating: PG-13
Word Count: 178
Her hair was clinging to the side of her face so she shook it away, the smell of chlorine over-powering for a few moments before she got used to it. She stood at the edge of the diving board, looking down at the pool, biting her lower lip and giggling before she phased through it, just falling into the water below her.
It was amazingly buoyant, being in the water, somewhat like being phased. Unaware of the stares she was accumulating, she walked up from fourteen feet down on self created steps, shaking the water off of her torso, taking a glad breath of air.
She smiled over at the younger boys who seemed shocked, her well-toned body coming completely out of the water as she stood on top of the pool, shaking the water out of her hair.
One of them seemed to pass out and she seemed confused, walking over to grab her towel, leaning over.
It was only then she realized her small bikini top had come off when she had landed in the water.
Title: Unscathed
Character/Pairing: Kitty Pryde
Theme Set: Omega #13 Sensitive
'Verse: 616 Comicverse
Rating: G
Word Count: 128
There was talk that the fourteen-year-old girl was too young to be put through the pressures of being an X-Men. She needed to preserve her youth, some said. She's too sensitive, others said. She's not strong enough, some others argued.
Kitty wasn't unaware of this issue, and knew quite a bit of their opinion depended on her performance in the Danger Room. She had also heard that the Professor was working hard on creating a situation that would really test her powers.
She was nervous, but was too afraid to let it show, though she didn't eat dinner that night.
When she walked through the hurdles set for her completely unscathed, however, the butterflies in her stomach disappeared, as well as the arguments that she was too 'sensitive.'
Title: Newfound Power
Character/Pairing: Kitty Pryde
Theme Set: Omega #14 Destruction
'Verse: 616 Comicverse
Rating: PG
Word Count: 105
Every cognitive bit of her (which was most of her) told her that this is what would have happened.
The brain is an electrical entity that controls most of the functions of the body. Electrical signals are carried out throughout the nervous system, sending these commands to the rest of the body. Electrical signals cause each heartbeat.
She stared down at the ground, the man having slumped through her hand, remembering when they first had noticed she short-circuited electronics when she phased through him.
He was... dead?
She shook a bit, looking at her hand, not sure if she understood the destruction she could wreak.
Title: Weather
Character/Pairing: Kitty Pryde
Theme Set: Omega #15 Notice
'Verse: 616 Comicverse
Rating: G
Word Count: 106
It rained a lot in England.
Well, to say it rained a lot in England, Kitty decided, was an understatement. Which is why, perhaps, the first time she noticed Pete Wisdom, she remembered clearly that the sun was shining and the normally overcast sky was clear of clouds.
She first noticed his black jacket and trailed her eyes up his chest, smiling at his face, smoke coming up from the cigarette he was smoking, leaning against a wall, apparently enjoying the fair weather himself. Lockheed's disapproval was obvious, but she ignored her companion, deciding that while it wasn't raining, she'd at least take advantage of England.
Title: Failure
Character/Pairing: Kitty Pryde
Theme Set: Omega #16 Trust
’Verse: 616 Comicverse
Rating: G
Word Count: 174
He was in her arms, but she couldn’t bring herself to trust in her own senses that he was actually there. She had stopped trusting long ago, after every hope had been crushed, every relationship broken. That was why she had to go away, right? That had been the whole point in getting away.
But the worst part, the thing she felt most guilty about, was the nagging distrust in him. She knew he had been kept prisoner for tests, but she couldn’t help but believe he could have given her some idea that he was still alive. He loved her, didn’t he? This was the man that came all the way to Britain, enraged to find that she had another lover, and almost beat him to death.
No, she couldn’t trust that she loved him.
And even while the logical side of her told her that he couldn’t have done anything to tell her the truth-that he was still alive, she couldn’t trust him either.
And that was what hurt the most.
Title: Marked
Character/Pairing: Kitty Pryde
Theme Set: Omega #17 Throat
’Verse: 616 Comicverse
Rating: PG
Word Count: 181
“You’ve got marks on your throat, Kitten,” Logan said.
Kitty just ignored him, ducking low, attempting to kick him in the ankles, catch him off balance. Perhaps if he started talking, he’d get distracted.
“Where’d they come from?” he asked.
She wasn’t going to fall for the bait, even though he had successfully dodged her kick, putting her off-balance.
He yanked her up, pulling her off her feet to look into his face. “I distracted you,” he said simply.
She whimpered softly, struggling, wanting to get down as he stroked the bite marks on her neck. “So, who made these?” he asked, lowering her to the ground.
She didn’t answer, and got a kick to the side of her head, which she simply phased through. “I don’t have a healing factor,” she said, looking at him. “So I’d prefer not to get a lecture on hickies when you’re necking with Mariko every second you think I’m not looking.”
He didn’t know what to say to that, not getting the answer he expected. “Whatever, Kitten,” he said. “Let’s go get some lunch.”
Title: First Winter Snow
Character/Pairing: Kitty Pryde
Theme Set: Omega #18 Bones
’Verse: 616 Comicverse
Rating: G
Word Count: 151
She was cold, cold to the bones, snowflakes on her eyelashes, twirling, amazed at how beautiful, and yet deadly it could be. Mrs. Rasputin escorted the skinny girl inside, wiping the snowflakes from her eyes, shaming her, telling her she could get killed if a blizzard started.
Kitty just smiled, her cheeks flush from cold. The snow was beautiful, but could quickly become deadly, just like so many people she knew. Surprising the old woman, she gave her a hug and thanked her, sitting down to have a cup of hot chocolate, Piotr smiling at her across the table.
“So now do you see why I said we shouldn’t come to Siberia during the wintertime?” he asked.
“I’m just hoping the Blackbird gets snowed in,” she said into her mug of hot chocolate, hiding a smile, knowing in her bones that this place felt just as much like home as Chicago.
Title: Autumn
Character/Pairing: Kitty Pryde
Theme Set: Omega #19 Leaf
’Verse: 616 Comicverse
Rating: G
Word Count: 123
The first leaf had fallen of the season, orange, just fluttering to the ground as if it had given up hope. She stared out her dorm window, looking at the single orange leaf on the ground. She opened up her window, knowing that soon enough, the school lawn would be littered with such leaves, but for now, she wondered why it had departed so soon, letting go when others were still clinging on to life.
Taking a deep breath of fresh air and sticking her head out the window. It was clear, so perfectly clear. The leaf wasn’t dead, it was liberated, finally having a chance to live a life of it’s own.
Or was she just making excuses for her own misgivings?
Title: Virgin Snow
Character/Pairing: Kitty Pryde
Theme Set: Omega #20 Prison
’Verse: 616 Comicverse
Rating: G
Word Count: 240
All the leaves had fallen now, covered with a fresh blanket of snow, the first of the season. She couldn’t sleep; she was pacing back and forth in her room, just trying to figure out what was wrong. She had been feeling off; she hadn’t been to class in three days. Her telephone rang incessantly, but she didn’t answer it, letting the messages accumulate and grow in worry.
The trees were bare, now just covered with that virgin snow, untouched, not even printed with a cat’s paw.
She touched her wall, feeling dizzy, wondering, just wondering if maybe coming to Robert Heinlein had been the wrong idea. The room was imprisoning her and she was burning up with fever. Bundling herself up, just trying to get rid of the cold, she stumbled outside, her feet kicking up layer after layer of frozen leaves, telling them to live their own lives, to find happiness.
Someone must have called the school police, because she woke up in a hospital. The doctors said she had been found lying in the snow, burning up with a fever outside of the school dorms. They told her that she’d be okay, the fever was coming down and they had figured out it was just a nasty virus and she had been dehydrated.
She didn’t talk back to the doctors, looking up at the bright florescent lights and blank walls. “Another prison,” she told herself, swallowing hard.
Title: Mourner’s Kaddish
Character/Pairing: Kitty Pryde
’Verse: 616 Comicverse
Rating: G
Theme: Omega #26 Commitment
Word Count: 242
A/N: The yartzeit is the anniversary of a loved one’s death and children, siblings, spouses, and parents of the deceased are required to observe it, though close friends and lovers who are not quite spouses often observe it as well. A temple with either read off the names of the ones who have passed this time of year, before reading the mourner’s kaddish (It’s a prayer.). The mourner’s kaddish is read three times throughout the Shabbat. Friday evening, Saturday morning (normally read four times) and then again, in the afternoon before the sun sets. Only other Jews are technically mourned with a yartzeit, which I believe would have hurt Kitty badly, as many of her friends lost were certainly not Jewish.
There are things that transcend memory. Things that just are, and recalling them isn’t rote, it’s due to years of dedication and commitment. To Kitty, Katherine Anne Pryde, faith was quite a bit like training in the Danger Room. Her reflexes were so quick no that even at the faint sound of a gunshot she phased.
The Hebrew tumbled out of her mouth seamlessly, the Shabbat service fulfilling her and the commitments she had pledged to herself. It was second nature now; the rabbi would finish his statement and they would all follow with a solid “Amen.” The recitation of faith came easily, and of course, they all bowed towards Israel.
It was on the Mourner’s Kaddish that she broke down, the words so committed to memory slipping, falling through the crevices of her mind as the rabbi recited the names for this Shabbat’s yartzeit.
“…Walter Sandburg, Juliette Rosenburg, Carole Roth…” the rabbi read off. He continued on to add the names of those taken in recent days, but Kitty wasn’t listening. Piotr Rasputin, the Communist Atheist would never heave his death remembered under a dome, Kitty reading the Kaddish with him in mind.
No one asked anything when Kitty came, dressed in her temple clothes to the Danger Room, asking for anything, just give her something to go up against. She held her Star of David in her hand as she entered the room, needing to commit to something at least.

Sometimes, she pondered why she was the one to live. Many of her friends had died; some of them had even died in her arms. She thought back to Illyana, the smiling, happy girl who had befriended her, even if it was such a short amount of time before the Legacy Virus took her.
But really, if she thought about it, it was that friendship that had brought Piotr to notice her. She had been infatuated with the Russian from the moment she saw him, but he paid little attention to her. But as they mourned together the loss of Kitty’s friend and Piotr’s sister, he soon came closer to her, getting to know the slight girl from Chicago.
Was it selfish to think that they never would have dated had Illyana not died?
Title: Feeling Useless
Character/Pairing: Kitty Pryde
’Verse: 616 Comicverse
Rating: G
Theme: Omega #28 Hero
Word Count:141
She wasn’t always sure she could be the hero they wanted her to be. Decoy, yes. Hacker, yes. Decimator of all things electronic, yes. But hero? She was thirteen and three-quarters, as she liked to point out. What use were her powers compared to some of the others’? Dodging was easy and so was infiltration, but beyond that, what was she? She wasn’t fit to be a fighter.
She was back from the mission, about to strip out of her uniform and take a shower when Logan came into her room unannounced. “Good job, Kitten,” he said, ruffling her hair.
All she had managed to do was to retrieve some files from a finger-print, bullet-proof locked cabinet, but Wolverine’s words lightened her heart, and she smiled steadily at him, wondering if maybe she could be a hero, at least for him.
Title: Promises
Character/Pairing: Kitty Pryde
’Verse: 616 Comicverse
Rating: NC-17
Theme: Omega #29 Speed
Word Count: 376
A/N: Okay, you’re all asking me for Piotr smut. So here it is. I also promise he will be tied up by Kitty at some point, but that’s a later prompt. So enjoy the nice, vanilla, muscular Russian smut.
“Faster,” Kitty begged, her fingers roaming over his broad muscled shoulders, just rying to find something to cling to, something to grasp, touch, want.
And it seemed Piotr was more than happy to oblige, looking at Kitty’s flushed face and dilated eyes, feeling her soft feet brush his waist as she wrapped her legs around him, just wanting more and knowing that he wanted as well.
One large hand tangled in her messy brown hair, the other at the small of her back, just trying to get in closer, become more together. She gasped, biting down on his lower lip, drawing blood, but muffling her gasp as she came, contracting around his thick member, bringing the inexperienced Russian over the edge, filling her with his seed.
They lay for a while, basking in the glow of ecstasy before Piotr rolled off of her, kissing her softly. “We need to get to dinner,” he rumbled.
She just nodded, letting go of him and stroking his face. “I love you so much,” she whispered, kissing his neck, his shoulders, and his chest greedily, sucking and biting. Pulling back, she looked up at him with a soft blush. “Mine,” she said, before turning to go take a shower.
He puzzled over that word for a moment, watching her before going to join her in the shower, and clean up the sticky mess between them.
When they made it to dinner, five minutes late, blushing, but clean and groomed, Kitty’s hair manageable, and Piotr wearing a shirt that wasn’t ripped, the only thing that seemed off were the hickeys and love-bites that were forming on his neck, shoulder and chest. Kitty had meant it when she wanted to be possessive.
“Ah, Colossus,” Nightcrawler said, his tail swishing behind him teasingly, his eyes scanning over the love-bites before he sat down. “I didn’t think you’d be so frisky so quickly.”
Piotr eyed the German carefully before saying, “I promised I’d never seem to die again, and she promised that she loved me. What more do we need?”
“A ring,” Nightcrawler said with a grin.
Piotr knew to take the mutant’s words to heart. After all, who knew her better, her wants and her needs than such a close friend and confidant?
Title: Tabulating the Score

’Verse: 616 Comicverse
Rating: G
Theme: Omega #30 Music
Word Count: 191
“What kind of music do middle-class Chicago girls listen to?” Jubilee asked Kitty, eying the girl’s tape player on her waist.
Kitty took the earphones out of her ear and laughed. “Well, normally I listen to female vocalists or New Age,” she replied, shaking her head. “So what kind of music do California street girls listen to?”
Jubilee frowned, working on keeping her anger in check, understanding Kitty was just reversing the question. Apparently Kitty didn’t like being lumped together with all the other middle-class Chicago girls.
But then again, most middle-class Chicago girls didn’t have genius level IQs or could walk through walls. Grudgingly trying to make up for her error, Jubilee asked, “So what are you listening to?”
“My European History lecture,” Kitty said candidly. “We have a test in a week?”
“Geek,” Jubilee said.
“So what’s your grade in Euro?” Kitty responded coolly, not offset by the word at all. “And what was that trick you wanted this geek to teach you on the computer?”
Jubilee just scowled and walked away, not wanting to concede the point.
Current score for March: Kitty 22, Jubilee 18.
She’d catch up.

She knew every time she ran away, she closed a door, locking it, and never being able to open it again.
Her dorm door automatically locked when she shut it, but she had the key. The computer lab, the genetics lab, and the chemistry lab were always locked for safety, but she had the key cards to open those doors. And to get into the nuclear reactor, she just had to ask.
She was nineteen. She had car keys, keys to her dorm, keys to her parents’ house, and card keys to the labs. She had a small cat on her keychain, a memento from Illyana before she died, and a Star of David as well, a constant reminder of her faith.
But what she was most afraid of, staring at the blank white dorm ceiling was that she’d never have a key to the mansion again. She still had the key she was given when she was thirteen and a half, a piece of nostalgia, but nothing that would open any door.
Surely, though, surely Xavier was accepting and could open some of these doors she had so foolishly locked in her fear and speed, handing her a new key that would fit the new lock if she needed to run back.
But there was still that latent fear that those doors were shut forever. Sometimes, she could placate herself by saying she was opening entirely new doors at Robert Heinlein and she didn’t need those old paths. They didn’t fit into her life anymore. Yeah, sometimes she could placate herself by telling herself that. But most of the time, she wondered what path she could run to now if all the doors behind her were shut.
Where was she supposed to go after university?
And if she did come back, would she run again?

It felt like gravity had increased ten-fold, and maybe that was why she had to place her hand on his shoulder to keep standing, feeling the fine muscles through his shirt.
“I know it’s not a very nice ring…” he started, but she placed a finger against his lip, tears at the corners of her eyes, trying to weigh the situation, when it felt like the gravity of the situation was so dire.
Keeping her right hand on Piotr’s shoulder, she extended her left hand out, the fingers shaking slightly. “It’s beautiful,” she said, tears in her eyes, wondering how the Soviet had come up with such a beautiful ring. A ring just for her. “Yes, I’ll marry you,” she continued, failing to keep the tremor out of her voice, the tears of joy off her cheeks.
He slipped the engagement ring on her slender finger, standing up and embracing her, kissing her passionately. “It’s an heirloom,” he said. “It goes back so long in my family.”
Here she was, a Jew in the arms of an atheist, engaged, wearing the ring that Illyana would have received had she survived, and it all felt perfect. There couldn’t be any better feeling in the world.

Sometimes, it felt like she had to remind herself to breathe and exhale; she just had to force her body to keep on going, even when she just wanted to stop everything and give up what she had been given.
But they were in Japan now, with Wolverine, and it wasn’t so difficult. She was in the half lotus position, her cupped hands on her thighs, inner peace on her mind.
“Suikonde kudasai,” and she heard the whole room take a deep breathe from the diaphragm, not from the chest, holding it until they heard, “Ikiwohaide kudasai.”
She let out the long breath, focusing on the erratic energy in her body. This trip would do more than train her for physical combat, or let Logan be with Mariko.
It might even give some peace to her ever active brain.
A little bit of nothing never sounded so pleasant.

It was the second snow of winter, and the brunette from Chicago had plans. Grabbing Bobby Drake, who was visiting, on leave from work, by the shoulder, ignoring the older man’s protests, she set a basin of water in front of him.
“Can you make fire?” she asked.
He looked at the young girl like she was crazy. “I make ice, not fire,” he told her, looking down at the oddly shaped, shiny basin. She had procured another one of the basins while he was looking away, and walked over to a bucket.
“This is pure water,” she said. “I made it myself.”
“Did the chemistry teacher give you free reign in the lab again, Kitty?” he asked exasperatedly, looking at the fifteen-year-old girl, trying to figure out where this was going.
She ignored that question. “No ions, no impurities, nothing imperfect about this water. Hydrogen and oxygen. And the basins are made of platinum, so they should be highly inactive.”
“Okay,” he said eventually. “What do you want me to do?”
“Make fire,” she said with a grin. She drag him over to the bucket. “First, I need you to hold the two basins together, tight against one another. I’m sure by this point you can figure out how much water will be needed inside of them so that when it freezes, it will fill the basins perfectly.”
He rolled his eyes, listening to the teenager prattle on, mentally calculating and dipping his hands in the water, not even going to ask where she had gotten the platinum to make the basins out of.
“Make sure you freeze the water as quickly as you can,” she said, moving to kick snow from an area, leaving a small pit of dirt. “’Cause then it won’t be cloudy at all.”
“Sure Kitty,” the adult said, rolling his eyes again and freezing the water. What a use of his talents. He pulled the basins out, now stuck together, looking like an odd shiny frisbee. When he turned around to hand her the metal and ice, he noticed that she had filled the small pit with tinder, and a few dry logs were to the side.
“Okay, Kitty, what’s with the frisbee?”
She took it from him, phased fingers grabbing the ice and pulling it through the platinum. She handed him the ice-it was crystal clear, not a single impurity in the block. “It’s not a frisbee; it’s a lens,” she said, pointing up at the sun. “I’m sure you’ve used a magnifying glass to make a fire before in one of your infamous pranks. Just keep the ice from melting and we can get the tinder to catch.”
It wasn’t long before they had a warm, crackling fire before them in the middle of the snow-covered garden.
“Jubilee was right,” Bobby said. “You are a geek.”
“But now I’m a warm geek with smores,” she corrected, handing him a bag of marshmallows. It wasn’t long before they had plenty of company.
A bonfire in winter was spectacular, no matter how geeky the means were for getting it. Or how long it took for a more morally-minded adult came to make them to put it out.

Theme: Omega #35 Bonds
Word Count: 716
A/N: Okay, it’s been asked for, and it’s here. We all know who wears the pants in this relationship.
Piotr tested the handcuffs, knowing he could break the bonds any moment he wanted to. He also knew the slave collar would chafe, and his legs were spread much further than they ought to ever be, tied to the bedposts. Kitty had worked on getting him hot and bothered, and then wandered off, leaving him tied to the bed, saying that if he was a good boy, he would get what he needed.
He didn’t dare test the handcuffs any further.
It seemed like ages, but it really wasn’t that long before Kitty came out in a leather corset, her hair slicked back into a ponytail with gel, and wearing a pair of leather hotshorts. She had a riding crop in one hand, and was idly smacking her left palm with it, looking at him with lust in her eyes.
She was going to enjoy this immensely.
He was still hard from her earlier teasing, but seeing her come in, fishnets and heels, leather corset and hotshorts, riding crop and gloves…
Oh, who knew Kitty Pryde, the golden girl could be so kinky?
It was a turn-on beyond belief. He thought he had been hard before, but now it hurt.
She eyed his bonds, smirking slightly, running the tip of the riding crop down the center of his chest. “Someone’s been a bad boy,” she murmured, the light touch exciting him beyond belief, having been deprived of any for so long.
He tried to tell her he was good, that he’d done everything she’d told him to, but he forgot about the ball gag, and bit down hard on it, quieting his complaints. No, he’d been a bad boy, and he would take his punishment.
Tilting his head to the side with the riding crop, she looked over her tall, sexy, muscular Russian. “Now, how should I punish you, like you deserve?” she asked, more talking to herself and to excite him.”
He whimpered into the ball gag and she just grinned.
“Spankings? That seems like a wonderful idea.”
She pulled him onto his knees, the rope holding his legs apart stretching as she did so. He wasn’t so sure about this new game, but when the riding crop teasingly caressed his balls, he decided Kitty could do what she wanted.
He heard the crack, and moaned at the sensation, her fingers caressing the red mark she had left on his chiseled ass. She repeated this four or five times, each time taking a break to either kiss, lick, or caress the mark, just wanting him the chance to feel.
He was sweating, whether from exhaustion, need, want, or just from being tired, she couldn’t tell. He was new to this game, so too much punishment wouldn’t be fair. Even if she liked getting to play the dominatrix.
She pushed him back on the bed, suddenly, without saying anything, and he bit down hard on the ball gag, his eyes going wide. “You took your punishment like a good boy,” she said. “Unfortunately, I don’t have any lollipops to make you feel better.”
He just groaned as she settled on top of him, the guttural sound emanating through any gag. He was helpless to buck against her as she rode him; she got to pick the tempo, the pace, and she had complete control.
She even predicted when he was going to come, the metal of the handcuffs cutting into his back, the fingers of one hand squeezing the base of his cock as she panted, convulsing around him.
He’d have marks in the morning, but that was half the fun. He seemed to enjoy the hurt enough, and everyone enjoyed the comfort.
Eventually, she pulled back, his own come dribbling out of her and onto his toned stomach as she moved to undo his ball gag. “How was playtime?” she asked.
“More than I bargained for,” he groaned.
She just smirked at that. “Let’s just hope that next time, you’re a little naughtier. I think you could use some more punishment later.”
He licked his lips. Playtime was certainly looking up. He could even overlook the metal cutting into his back, and the uncomfortable stretch in his legs for now if he could be promised an orgasm like that when the cat was feeling frisky.

Most teenagers tell lies. Kitty Pryde was no different in that aspect. The only real difference was that when she found out she could get away with almost any lie she fabricated, she didn’t take advantage of it. Well, in most situations.
Jubilee was always a good scapegoat, especially if Logan was involved. That girl could get out of trouble easily, and if Jubilee was a suspect, no one would think twice about Kitty. But while she didn’t take advantage of other people with her lying skills, she found out, much later in life, that she’d been lying to herself for quite a long time.
She’d convinced herself that maybe she was on a different level.
Getting the acceptance letters from colleges, normal collages where humans attended, too, only made her suddenly want something she’d never been able to have, due to the lies.
A lecture hall with 150 people in it. Normally, that kind of class turned people off, but Kitty craved it. The teacher would never know who she was. She could find out who she was based on natural talent alone, not the notions most of the people at the mansion had about her. It was so appealing, to be able to tear through the fabrication.
To find out who she really was. Not what others wanted to her to be.

“Next week is Valentine’s Day,” Piotr said, lying in the grass on a hill next to Kurt. “That’s a really important holiday in America, right?”
“If you have a girlfriend,” Nightcrawler said with a wink. “It’s good to have you back, you know. Kitty’s so much happier.”
Piotr just nodded slowly. “All I want is for Katya to be happy. That’s why I’m so worried about this holiday.”
Kurt pondered that for a while, watching the fluffy white clouds pass through the sky. “It’s getting warm,” he commented. “It almost feels like spring. Flowers might be coming out early.”
“I don’t think Katya is one for a grocery store box of chocolate,” Piotr said with a smile.
“I was also thinking of going on a picnic in the woods at some point,” Kurt mumbled vaguely. “It does look like it’s stopped snowing for now, at least.”
Colossus stood up, and smiled at the blue mutant. “Thank you, my friend and comrade.”
“Just remember, she loves you for who you are, Piotr. So don’t go completely American.”
He took the words to heart, and when Piotr blindfolded Kitty and led her out into the warming woods, she had no idea what he was up to, giggling, already happy, and it lightened his heart.
When he undid her blindfold and she saw the blanket set out, wild flowers scattered over it and a picnic for two, traditional, home cooked Russian food, she wrapped her arms around him happily. “Did you make this all yourself?”
“I had help from a comrade,” he answered modestly, dropping the blindfold to the ground.
“Best Valentine’s Day gift ever,” she mumbled into his chest, just amazed at the romantic in him.

Logan frowned, stacking the letters one on top of the other. “I can’t stake claim on your life forever,” he admitted. “But I still don’t think you’re ready to go. Especially without your temper in check. It rarely comes up, but Kitten, you know when you get angry, you are dangerous, and the police can’t stop you in the real world. What will you do then? Stay here at least a little longer.”
She picked up all the letters, stuffing them in her satchel, her face stony, unreadable. “It’s my life,” she enunciated carefully. “I’ve already accepted one of the offers and I’ve packed. Goodbye.”
She left his room, and he was just afraid she had only proven his point.

She told herself the reason she came back to England was for the gardens. The lush, green, wild yet tame gardens full of heather and wisteria. She hadn’t told anyone where she was going, simply saying she needed another chance to get out and grieve.
If anyone was worried that spring she strayed away, they could have easily checked the GPS on her cell phone or her plane, or they could even check Cerebro.
The garden, when she got to it, was dead in some places, and actually wild in others. She promised herself, looking at the ruined garden, she had come here to grieve, not to get her hopes up.
It was a month of careful garden work before she had gotten it back to beauty. Her clothes were dirty and there was dirt under her fingernails, but she glowed with the beauty of someone clearly happy with a job well done.
But suddenly she felt arms around her waist, pulling her close, even with all the dirt. She turned around, blushing lightly. “Pete,” she said softly, almost too quiet to hear, ignoring the gentle drizzle coming down on them.
He wiped a smudge of dirt from her face before kissing her. “Just as luscious as your beautiful garden,” he murmured. “I brought you a present.”
She touched her lips, not thinking of her dead lover at all for the moment. “How did you know where to find me?” she asked, shocked to see him.
“I knew you’d come back eventually.” He kissed her filthy forehead, the rain coming down harder.
Reluctantly, she let him pull away, grabbing a young pear tree by the trunk. “Happy May Day,” he said, placing a crown of flowers on her head. “I think I found the Queen of May. And I humbly offer her this pear tree, which even in full blossom could never compare to her beauty.”
“Always the flatterer,” she said, getting her shovel. “Help me plant the tree then.”
They planted the tree together, the rain torrential now, and even after she had gone back to America, Pete Wisdom visited her garden on May Day, hiring gardeners to make sure it would always be in prime condition.
Because someday, whether secretly wanting to see him, or for other reasons, the Queen of May would come back, and she deserved to be treated with a salute of pear blossoms, heather, and wisteria.

Or were they not really voices of the mind, just more suggestive energy, explaining what her ideas were without a real voice at all?
Well, even if she was overthinking it, she liked to imagine that Lockheed had a Yiddish accent. It just made conversations more amusing.
Well, she could at least manipulate the voice she heard in her head. She just would never explain, despite his complaining, why she tried to parse Yiddish words into his speech.

Once, however, Illyana came up to her and said, “I envy your hair so much. It’s so thick and beautiful, and has that natural shine, and frames your face so perfectly. My brother’s commented on it to me several times.”

She thought about Rogue, someone who could not have any contact like the contact she craved so badly. She could simply avoid contact, phasing away, the touch going right through her. But unlike Rogue, she wasn’t a selective loner. She enjoyed people and enjoyed being around them.

That was what ended up hurting them the most.
Kitty knew Jubilee would want a goodbye and an explanation of why she had to leave, run off again. Perhaps she was too scared to talk to her; perhaps she was tired of everyone trying to convince her she should stay, at least a little longer.
But once she had set up her dorm, all the way back in Chicago, and sat down on the bed, the guilt hit her. She knew she had broken something precious, and she wasn’t sure if she would know how to fix it.
That was her real regret.

But she had to beg him, having lost so much in the past.
“Please, promise me you’ll never leave me again.”
It was the kind of promise you had no control over, but the kind you made anyway, like telling little white lies.

She knew she looked good in a bikini and she could use a tan. So when a field trip to the beach for the marine biology class was planned, her name was the first on the list. She managed to go shopping before they flew to a more Southern area, where the water would be manageable for those who were normal, at least in how cold of water they could deal with.
When she learned by “more Southern area” the teacher meant the Bahamas, Kitty was even happier she had made the ten student cut.
They were given the first day to just enjoy the ocean, and not learn anything. Kitty was a Chicago girl, so she was used to the smell of fish and gulls, but that was a lake, nothing like this clear blue ocean that seemed to go on for eternity.
She had an urge, though she knew it was irrational to see how far she could swim out, find out how deep the water got and find out how long it stayed this crystal blue with white beaches. Swimming was forgotten eventually, Kitty just content to sunbathe on the beach in her pale blue bikini, watching the waves lap at the shore.
As the sun set, the teacher prodded Kitty, the girl just staring off at the deep blue horizon. “It’s so beautiful,” she murmured. “But I guess, like everything else, it has an end and a hurt.”

Taglit-birthright israel is a foundation that allows Jews who have never been to Israel to go to Israel for a tour so that they can at least see their holy land. Their goal is to create solidarity between Jews. Aliyah is when a Jew moves to Israel and due to the Law of Return automatically gets citizenship.
Sometimes, she felt like there were existential chains holding her to where she was, keeping her back from the Promised Land. Some found it so easy to do evil, to do bad, to do even slight crimes, and found no guilt or found repentance in a confession box.
“I’m going to Israel,” she told Logan, not looking him in the eye, keeping her gaze down at her feet, almost as if she was ashamed of the proclamation.
He frowned. He knew the war had only gotten worse between the Palestinians and the Israelites, but if this was an exploration of Kitty’s religion… he couldn’t really say no.
“Taglit-birthright israel,” she said. “Or maybe even Aliyah. It’s my Promised Land, and I’ve never even set foot in it. My grandfather went through so much to make sure I could have such rights, and I can’t deny that.”
Logan didn’t say anything and she took that as assent enough. Perhaps visiting the graves for the war of independence and standing in Jerusalem would lift some of those existential chains, allowing her to move more freely.

She held her Star of David in her hand, one thing that ostracized her, but seemed to be more a marvel, a curiosity of sorts. Sure, they were all mutants, but she was a Jew, he was a Catholic, and she was a Pagan. And they could laugh together, dine together, and live together.
It was simple enough to give her some peace.
