Should be reading that bloody Aldo Ferrer text. I truly hate that bastard. I went to La Feria del Libro a couple of weeks ago with Picco. It sucked monkey's ass. It has nothing to do with books anymore, apparently. Kind of like "I love the smell of commerce in the morning!", only, you know, NOT. Anyway, so I was there, and while Picco was looking at yet another stand for Mexican History books ((he's working on sth about that)) I started perusing, and I came across... "Hechos y Ficciones de la Globalizacion" by my best friend, Aldo "I wear granma underpants" Ferrer. O_o I wonder what would've happened if I had just snapped and burned the whole thing to the ground. Probably millions of lives would've been saved.
So, Sociedad y Estado... still hate it. This morning we were talking about midterms ((about bloody time too)) and all that was going to be on the test. The professor started writing down all the authors. He finally came to the last, some guy named Giddens ((he's supposed to be an Economics hot-shot, never heard of him)) when Julian started going through his book like mad. To no ado, there was no Giddens to be found there. So he and a few others told this to the professor. After going through one of the books, he merely said "Apparently this new edition doesn't have Giddens." Ok, so what the fuck do we do? Just buy the old edition and study all that shit ONE WEEK BEFORE THE MIDTERMS?? That's just fucking unfair. I know this is university, and here they do things like that, just give you things to study without notice, but come on! People started complaining, and the guy merely shrugged his shoulders and said "Ok, I'll see what I can do..." And then he went on and on about how very wonderful and interesting Giddens was, and how he was Tony Blair's favorite, bla bla bla, yadda yadda yadda... So, like, he couldn't have found a WORST way to try to get us excited about reading that guy even if he tried. I mean, I'm about as interested in reading all about Blair's pet toy, than I am about watching Utilisima Satelital. I would actually PREFER watching Bricolage than reading about "Still the prettiest"'s lover. I feel kinda sorry about teacher now. What an interesting life he must lead.
University is not making me bitter, no way. Must be your imagination... O_O
