For some reason I was reminded of a conversation I had with one of DJ's friends regarding politics. First of all, I can't stand politics. Second, I can't stand people who think they know politics and in reality only know what they want to know and are ignorant about what's really going on. So this lady is a hard-core republican and as I was in her backyard loading some rocks to take back to my house, she came out and asked DJ and I if we were happy about what we did. She was talking about voting for Obama. Then she went off on how he is ruining everything and turning the country into a socialist country. She blamed him for the bail-outs even though that was approved when Bush was still in office. My response was that he is using socialism not to convert the country into something else, but to try and take a different step in boosting this economy. And I also told her that just because he proposes something, it still has to be voted in by congress. That's about as far as I got and then she went on and on about how he was a terrible mistake and he is going to ruin the country. I got mad and stayed quiet because she was so obsessed with Republicans being the answer.
The party system is stupid. I hate people that vote for political positions based on party affiliation rather than for who is the best candidate. She thought I was stupid even though political science was my minor and I actually understand it better than her. It was more amusing to me how stupid she made herself sound while inside she probably thought to herself that she was sounding educated. I bet anyone can guess what state she's from without me mentioning it.
Politics always seem to piss me off. Not that I would have, but I wanted to punch her in the mouth. People like her need to open up their minds.
