this is a rabbit entry. there be photos of rabbits

Apr 02, 2011 15:20

i promised them to viviana87  a while ago, so have some bunny photos taken in Agutown :p the only thing, deal with the crappiness of my old camera ^^;
i see rabbits almost every day in the streets, actually, but i still find it very difficult to take photos of them. my camera takes its sweet 3-5 seconds to take the photo after i hit the button, and that's usually enough time for any wild creature to run off, and rabbits and hares are fast. if the quality wasn't bad enough, the zoom option doesn't work and it takes them at the furthest distance, making what was 2 metres away look like it was like 10 metres away X_X.  but yeah, have some pictures i took, and forgive me about the low quality. i have more, but i swear they are even worse xD

caught before crossing the fence to a patio (awful quality)

the closest i could approach to it
bright eyes :3

it ran away

this is the only photo which was taken completely outside of the city, yet not that far away. it's barely noticeable in the first:

and it runs away!

the darkness doesn't help it, but if you look veeeeeery close you can see its face and ears ^^; maybe it's easier for me as i took the photo ^^;

another dark photo i almost don't include here: the eye is viewable, but then again, i'd hardly see it if i didn't take the photo and knew it was there (it had a bright red eye!)

most of them were taken around the downtown area, so go figure what a modern metropoli is this :p. this ain't nothing though: since this town in inside a National Park, urbanization can't happen in all places hence all the neighbourhoods are separated by kilometres (from 3 to 10, i think). they're connected by roads, but around them it's all covered with native forest. i heard that near some of these neighbourhoods, cougars can be seen roaming next to the houses sometimes. i wanna move to some of them :o
despite their cuteness, is not really a good thing: rabbits are an european species and they became a pest here, and a pretty destructive one.
also, yesterday i had to run to my school after classes because i forgot something, and since i was hurried i didn't bring the camera with me. when i crossed the bridge above the stream, the female ringed kingfisher which i named Sasha flew from soomewhere and sat in her usual branch, PERFECT FOR A PHOTO X_X. she's an evil bird and always comes by when i don't have my camera.

NIGHT EDIT: oooooh!
prolly SNCA for everyone but something sweet happened today and it made me happy. Sasha the ringed Kingfisher showed herself TWO consecutive times today.... when i got my camera with me 8D. i adore that bird <3. i've been observing her since i came to live here. now i only need a photo of her "husband", Sui. need to find some of his inkeepers because i've only seen him (or other males?) in flight.
have some pictures!! (bad quality, but alot clearer than the rabbits. at least she's confident with people)

these are still dark, but look how sunny was today unlike the rest of the week <3 and it seems she couldn't resist taking a sun bath(though later it got cloudly windy again :c). photos were taken around 4:00 pm

in flight

slkdjasfjalfkjaf highly doubt anyone is interested on bird pictures but it made me soooo happy <3 been wanting to take a picture of her since i came to live here, lol.

tomorrow i'll be back with  a rant or something more usual :p sorry for the animal photo spammage ^^;
and, i still have to read a couple of entries, i'm gonna do it tomorrow C;
