Morning everyone!
So how was your weekend? We had some bizarre weather going on. It was nearly 70 degrees and then today it's barely above 30! Went from running around in a t-shirt to a winter jacket this morning. Seriously??
On Saturday I took a glass fusing glass at the park district. We got to make three pendants from a wide variety of glass that was provided. It was a lot of fun! I learned how to use all sorts of glass cutting tools. The woman who taught the class was very friendly and made sure to demonstrate techniques and answer questions for us newbies.
Here's a photo of the raw glass pendants I made. She's going to be firing them this week and I can pick up the finished pieces this Saturday. They're going to be all soft and round when they're done. Will be exciting to see what they end up looking like!
Then on Sunday I took the hubby out for dinner and a movie for his birthday. We went to see the new James Bond one, Skyfall. I have to say, we were both underwhelmed by it. Not that Daniel Craig isn't an awesome Bond, but there really was no "spy stuff" going on at all. They were just chasing the bad guy for 2 1/2 hours. And what a monumental waste of the new "Q". He was funny and quirky and had a lot of potential but all he did was stand in front of a computer and push a few buttons. I was with Bond when he was given a gun and a radio transmitter. "Were you expecting an exploding pen?" Why, yes, I was, actually! That's always been a part of the charm of the Bond movies - the gadgets. And now all we have is a gun. Really? [sigh] I have to say the ending was a complete surprise. I never saw that coming.
I read an interview with Daniel Craig right before we went to the movie and I didn't understand his comments about being open to Bond being bi-sexual. Now that I've seen it I know why he said it. And damn, who wouldn't want to see Craig making out with another guy? Whoo-hoo!
Have any of you seen Skyfall? What did you think?
And now…off to start my Monday. Blech.
