I'm sitting here in shock, not sure what to say/think. Like you, I can't believe Eric is ramming this shit down our throats again, especially after the nightmare that was Jo and Ellen. Why is he torturing us??

I would have thought that this season would draw the boys and their "family" in closer than ever because of Dean's deal. Their time is short and they've got to do what they can within that limit. Nothing else should matter or intrude. I just don't get it.

I hate to think the show will be ruined by this, but I just don't have the ability to trust right now, because I don't understand the need to make these changes. We don't want or need some other badass hunters to make Dean and Sam feel stupid or inferior. They've got enough on their plates, for Pete's sake. Emotionally, you just can't bounce back from all that happened at the end of season two. I don't care who you are.

You can thank Dawn Ostroff for this nightmare. Her pet show, VM, gets canceled, so she now has to cram female characters in wherever she can, and she set her sights on SPN. We're seriously screwed.

I'm not going to judge this thing until I will see it.

I'm not fond of the regular thing, but I like the idea of female demon hunters.

As long as the main focus of the show will be Dean and Sam, I can live with it.

And I think it's not only a Kripke's idea. I still trust him and I'll watch the show.

I still prefer to have "Dean and Sam with some hunters" than not Dean and Sam at all.

I'll wait and see.

I wish I had your optimism, but I just don't. I don't feel that with adding two more regular characters the focus will be on Sam and Dean any longer. You have to keep splitting up screen time to accomodate new regular characters and that leaves less and less time for Sam and Dean. If these girls turn out to be regulars, we'll have to spend time getting to know their history and backstory, etc. or we'll have episodes like No Exit where one of the boys will be non existant.

Sorry, I'd rather have no Sam and Dean at all than that. :-(

Of this I have NO doubt. Just like the spoilers that were released about Jo last summer. TPTB want to see fan reaction. Well, they've gotten it alright!

I'm tired of every female character out there in tv/movie/book-land having to be bigger and better at everything than the guys they're with. I like strong women, but come on! It's not realistic and it's not necessary.

This sounds like fanfic gone bad, doesn't it? Like all those Buffy crossovers I've read where Buffy, Faith, or some other girl gets to do all the fighting and Dean & Sam get to stand around and watch admiringly and *uselessly*. Because that's sooo characteristic.

I'm Kripke wants to re-introduce the potential for romance; he's probably thinking it'll draw viewers/ratings. If so, he's not been paying attention to what fans are saying. We want Dean, Sam, the Impala, and a few recurring characters like Bobby. That's it!

And this is all Dawn Ostroff's meddling. All she cares about is having female leads in every damn show on the network, no matter that in some cases it's not plausable!

Exactly. The boys should be in no place to deal with romance right now, especially Dean. And, knowing Sam, he's going to put his full attention on saving Dean, so how will he have time for a girl? Not to mention what you talked about Barb-how in the world can they logically be series regulars unless they're traveling with Sam and Dean? It's totally ridiculous for them to just show up hunt after hunt, so they'd have to travel with Sam and Dean...

Okay, I have to comment on the names...:P I just don't like them! They're fine names in themselves (I actually really like the name Ruby), but for this show and those characters, they just don't seem to fit at allI ( ... )

Yes, thank you! I mean, I've yet to see one other explanation as to how these girls would be around so damn much if not traveling with the boys. And that thought just makes me ill.

I can't think about this for three months. So I decided to just wait and see in fall, because otherwise I'll go crazy. I want the show for DeanandSam and not for random people ghosthunting, but I'll take what I get and until then I'll rewatch Season 1 (and Season 2).

It's too late for me. I'm already furious and it just keeps running around in my head. :-(

but I'll take what I get and until then I'll rewatch Season 1 (and Season 2).

I'm afraid that's what it's gonna come down to for me as well.
