Tomorrow is crunch day

So...the Mini is not yet registered, it appears that the professional mechanics are having similar difficulties getting its emmissions under control to what I was. Except they have a gas sniffer so that they can immediately tell the effects of changes they make. The movement permit expires while I'm out of town next week, and I have to physically take the car to the DMV so that they can verify the VIN matches the VIN on the title. So I MUST have the car back no later than tomorrow afternoon, since the mechanic doesn't open on weekends. Stupid bloody thing. I'm all for reducing pollution, but a 10ppm reading from a 1275cc classic Mini must be less actual pollution than the allowable 2.5ppm from a 6 litre V8. How about a little common sense? Maybe test actual pollution volume output rather than percentages?

On a work front...random changes to the Oracle setup (that the ONLY USERS OF THE DATABASE WEREN'T INFORMED OF) appear to have killed the part of SASI that determines how many staff each school is allowed to have, and how much money the school district gets from the State. Unless that gets fixed by tomorrow afternoon, Cheryl (my more than slightly useless direct report) won't be able to work Saturday and get the numbers out over the weekend. I love our DBAs.

On a totally unrelated note: *huggles* to Heidi. People care, I care.
