 Today at work I noticed a fax to our hospital from another hospital talking about a dog's improvement on her walking after an acupuncture treatment.  I've always heard about acupuncture on animals, I just didn't think it was used that commonly.  Maybe common isn't a good word, but it is pretty cool to know one of our four legged patients benefited ( Read more... )

Dude, acupuncture for puppies rocks. My aunt has a rescue dog that WOULD not let us touch his back because he'd been whipped a bunch there. Now she has what she calls a 'doggie whisperer' come in, but she's more of a homeopathic vet. She's given Scooby acupuncture I think twice, or three times? That with a combination of some other remedies has made him not only calmer, but he'll actually doesn't wince when we touch his back (it wasn't just the memory of abuse, he also had pain there). I'm all for it!

I would not be able to do acupuncture for animals unless I'm a licensed veterinarian first... while I would love to do that I don't know if I would want to go through vet school, although working at the hospital is making me think about it again....

aww damn, that really sucks. i thought there was like a certification or something that you could get once you're licensed to practice on other animals or something. if that was possible that would be a great thing to look into.
