Hey guys if you don't have plans for Friday watch Ice Wars on CBS. If you are going out just leave your tv tuned to CBS, to help the ratings. It sbeen going on for thirteen years but figure skating is losing popularity and they need the ratingsx to keep it going. I have never watched it before but I have seen adn heard of some of gthe skaters.
" The United States takes on the world in the 13th edition of ICE WARS, where some of the top US and international professional figure skaters will battle it out on the rink.
Each team features four skaters per team: two women and two men. The USA team is led by 13-year "Ice Wars" veteran and 1988 Olympic gold medalist Brian Boitano, with three-time US National Champion Michael Weiss, 1995 US Open Champion Rory Flack Burghart and two time US Championship Bronze Medalist Angela Nikodinov also skating.
Competing for the World team will be 2002 Olympic gold medalist Alexei Yagudin, four-time world champion Kurt Browning, 1994 Olympic gold medalist Oksana Baiul and 2006 Olympic gold medalist Shizuka Arakawa.
HOW IT WORKS Each team member skates two artistic programs. A panel of professional judges awards the marks with the individual scores being added together for a team total. Each skater's first program is marked as an individual event and their second program is marked as head-to-head competition within the pairings. Each score from Program Two is doubled and added to the score from Program One. The team with the highest score is the winner. Which one will prevail? Brian Boitano is an excellent skater in the Olympics it was him verse a Canadian also named Brian and it was referred to as the battle of the Brians I have never seen him skate, the commercials show him doing a backflip.
ALexei Yagudin I have wseen before on Star on Icce and the World Team Challenge 2005. He did a mini striptease in the other shows skating to Sway performed by the Pussycat Dolls. His footwork is electrifying.
Kurt Browning I saw on the World team Challenge as well, and he was hilarious. He skated as a clown who did not know howw to skate before, he probably would not do the same skit, but I am sure it will be great whatever he does. At the end of the skit he fell into the judges box.
